Obolo is a broad-spectrum insecticide containing 10% bifenthrin as the active ingredient. It is an emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulation that is recommended for the control of a wide range of pests in cotton, maize, vegetables, and fruits.

Bifenthrin is a pyrethroid insecticide that acts as a contact and stomach poison. It disrupts the nervous system of insects, which leads to paralysis and death. Obolo is a fast-acting insecticide that provides long-lasting protection against a wide range of pests.

Obolo is effective against the following pests:

  • Cotton: Bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera), American bollworm (Helicoverpa zea), pink bollworm (Pectinophora gossypiella), tobacco budworm (Heliothis virescens)
  • Maize: Armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda), corn earworm (Helicoverpa zea), fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda), European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis), southwestern corn borer (Diatraea grandiosella)
  • Vegetables: Cabbage looper (Trichoplusia ni), diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella), imported cabbageworm (Pieris rapae), tomato hornworm (Manduca quinquemaculata)
  • Fruits: Codling moth (Cydia pomonella), peach borer (Anarsia lineatella), oriental fruit moth (Grapholita molesta), peach tree borer (Synanthedon exitiosa), grape leafhopper (Erythroneura comes), Japanese beetle (Popillia japonica)

Obolo should be applied at the first sign of pest infestation. It can be applied by foliar spray or ground application. The recommended application rate varies depending on the crop and the pest to be controlled.

Obolo is generally safe for use on crops and non-crop plants, but it is important to follow the label directions carefully to avoid crop injury.
