General Information

Sargent SC is a broad-spectrum insecticide manufactured by Insecticides (India) Limited, a leading agrochemical company in India. It is a suspension concentrate formulation containing fipronil as the active ingredient. Sargent SC is effective against a wide range of sucking and soil-borne pests that attack various crops, including rice, cotton, vegetables, and fruits.

Mode of Action

Fipronil belongs to the phenylpyrazole class of insecticides. It acts as a neurotoxin, disrupting the nervous system of insects by blocking GABA receptors. This leads to hyperexcitation and death of the target pests.

Application

Sargent SC is recommended for both foliar and soil application. For foliar application, it is sprayed directly onto the leaves and stems of the crop. For soil application, it is mixed with water and applied to the soil around the plant base.

Precautions

• Wear protective clothing, gloves, and a mask while handling and applying Sargent SC.

• Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

• Do not apply during windy conditions to prevent drift.

• Follow the recommended dosage and application instructions.

• Do not contaminate water sources or apply near beehives.

Doses

The recommended dose of Sargent SC varies depending on the crop and target pest. For rice and cotton, the general dose is 250-300 ml per hectare. For vegetables and fruits, refer to specific crop recommendations.
