General Information:

  • Trade name: Sefina
  • Active ingredient: Pyraclostrobin (25%)
  • Fungicide class: Strobilurin fungicide

Mode of Action:

Sefina is a systemic fungicide that inhibits energy production in the fungus. It is a strobilurin fungicide, which means that it works by interfering with the fungus's ability to produce ATP, the energy currency of all cells. Without ATP, the fungus cannot grow and reproduce.

Application:

Sefina can be applied to a variety of crops, including wheat, barley, oats, and rye. It can be applied pre-emergence or post-emergence, but it is most effective when applied preventatively. Sefina can be applied using a variety of application methods, including ground spraying, aerial spraying, and chemigation.

Precautions:

  • Sefina is toxic to fish and other aquatic life. Do not apply Sefina to areas where it may run off into water bodies.
  • Sefina can be harmful to non-target plants. Avoid applying Sefina to areas where non-target plants are growing.
  • Sefina is a residual fungicide, so it can persist in the soil for several weeks. Do not plant crops that are sensitive to Sefina within 3 to 6 weeks of application.
