Silwet L77
GENERAL INFORMATION
SILWET L-77 SURFACTANT is a 100% organosilicone product which has been proven to have effective and powerful wetting capabilities when used in aqueous spray mixes. Organosilicone surfactants are a distinctive class of nonionic wetting agents which have capacity to lower surface tension of aqueous mixes when used at lower rates than that of conventional organic nonionic surfactants. Therefore, for best results, it is recommended that a 100% organo-silicone be used only when specifically recommended by the pesticide manufacturer's label or after consulting your pesticide manufacturer or a locally recognized authority on the use of organosilicone based adjuvants. Optimum application and consequent effects can be influenced by many factors. Therefore, it is recommended that careful observation of the spray deposit be made and adjuvant rate adjusted accordingly to ensure thorough coverage without undue runoff.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
SILWET L-77 SURFACTANT has been found to be effective in agricultural applications at .025 to 0.25% v/v concentration. Some applications may require lower
or higher surfactant rates for optimum effect. Do not add adjuvant at a level that would exceed 5% of the finished spray volume. When this occurs, adjust rates to obtain thorough coverage without excessive runoff. Diminished performance will result if tank mix pH is excessively high (above 9) or low (below 5). Optimum performance of SILWET L-77 SURFACTANT will result between pH of 6 and 8. Prior to use ofSILWET L-77 SURFACTANT in any agricultural application, the user, applicator or advisor must have experience or must have conducted a phytotoxicity trial on the crop to which the application is to be applied.
MIXING
Prior to any pesticide application all spray mixing and application equipment must be thoroughly cleaned. Carefully observe all cleaning directions on the pesticide(s) label(s).
1. To prevent or minimize foaming, fill tank to 2/3 to 3/4 full of water. If foaming is anticipated, the addition of an antifoaming agent should be added before
pesticides, nutrients, or SILWET L-77 SURFACTANT is added. 2. Add pesticides and/or fertilizers as directed by label or in the followingsequence:
A. Micronutrients and fertilizers
B. Dry flowables and dispersible granules
C. Flowables
D. Water soluble pesticides
E. Emulsifiable concentrates
3. Continue agitation.
4. Add SILWET L-77 SURFACTANT and mix for 1 to 2 minutes with lower thannormal agitation.
5. Continue filling tank, maintaining minimal agitation.
6. For optimum results, spray mixes containing SILWET L-77 SURFACTANTshould be applied within 36 hours after mixing.
