Systar is a broad-spectrum insecticide containing 10% w/w bifenthrin as the active ingredient. It is a pyrethroid insecticide that acts through contact and stomach poisoning. Systar is effective against a wide range of sucking and chewing pests, including jassids, whiteflies, thrips, aphids, bollworms, and termites. It is also effective against some mites.

Systar has a quick knockdown effect and long residual activity. It is used on a wide range of crops, including cotton, rice, sugarcane, vegetables, and fruit trees. Systar is also used to control termites in buildings.

Mode of Action

Systar works by disrupting the nervous system of insects. It blocks the transmission of sodium ions across the nerve cell membrane, which prevents the insect from sending signals to its muscles. This causes the insect to become paralyzed and eventually die.

Application

Systar is applied as a foliar spray or a soil drench. The application rate will vary depending on the target pest and crop. Systar should be applied in the evening or on a cloudy day to avoid photodegradation.

Safety

Systar is a toxic pesticide and should be handled with care. Always wear protective clothing, including gloves, a long-sleeved shirt, pants, and socks, when handling Systar. Do not apply Systar to water or near water sources. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling Systar.

Storage

Systar should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight. Keep Systar out of reach of children and animals.
