GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Before opening, carefully read Directions for Use, Precautionary Statements, Safety Directions, and First Aid Instructions. This product is a pre- and post-emergence herbicide, selectively controlling various weeds and grasses in specified crops. It acts mainly through root absorption, and its effectiveness relies on rainfall or irrigation.
MAXIMUM APPLICATION RATES:
- Atrazine application limited to 3 kg a.i. per hectare per year in all crops (except plantation forestry).
- For plantation forestry, rates are 4.5 kg a.i. per hectare per year in sandy soils and highly erodible soils, and 8 kg a.i. per hectare per year in clay loam and heavier textured soils.
MIXING:
- Fill spray tank 60-80% full with clean water before adding Genfarm Atragen 900 WG Herbicide.
- Agitate vigorously throughout mixing and spraying operations.
- To prevent foaming, add Foam-Ex at 20mL/1000L water before adding Atragen 900 to the spray tank.
- Pour the required amount of product steadily into the spray tank, allowing vigorous bypass agitation.
- After complete dispersion, continue filling the tank to the desired level for spraying.
- Thorough agitation should continue during the entire spraying operation. Do not leave the spray solution standing in the tank overnight.
INCORPORATION (PRE-PLANT AND AT SOWING APPLICATION):
- Activation depends on rainfall or irrigation.
- In flood or furrow irrigation, mechanical incorporation (light harrows) up to 4 cm deep is required to ensure activation.
INTEGRATED WEED MANAGEMENT STRATEGY FOR TT CANOLA:
- Follow an Integrated Weed Management Strategy for triazine herbicides in triazine-tolerant (TT) canola.
- Includes specific management of crop plant volunteers, outcrossing, and triazine herbicide residue management.
TO MINIMIZE HERBICIDE RESISTANCE:
- Avoid dry sowing in heavily weed-infested paddocks. Wait for weed germination after the opening rains.
- Adapt weed control program based on anticipated weed spectrum and pressure.
- Do not use atrazine or simazine if the area had a triazine herbicide applied last season.
- Monitor for escapes, especially in paddocks with a history of Group C herbicide use.
RESISTANT WEEDS REPORTING:
- Collect and test plant or seed samples where weeds susceptible to atrazine and simazine may show resistance.
- Seek professional advice.
TO AVOID TRIAZINE CARRYOVER:
- On acid soils (pH < 6.5): Max. rate is 2.2 kg/ha during the growing season.
- On alkaline soils (pH > 6.5): Max. rate is 1.1 kg/ha during the growing season.
- Post-emergence use recommended only with atrazine 900 g/kg at rates ≤ 1.1 kg/ha.
SUMMER CROPS:
- Prefer pre-plant or pre-emergent applications for grass control.
- Follow application guidelines based on timing, soil moisture, and crop stage for optimal results.
APPLICATION:
- Ground Application: Overall or band treatment, 30 cm minimum bandwidth, 50-100 L/ha.
- Aircraft Application: Critical for good soil moisture and follow-up rain/irrigation within 10 days, 20-30 L/ha.
- Do not use human flaggers when applying by aircraft.
COMPATIBILITY:
- Compatible with Paraquat 250 Herbicide and other residual herbicides such as Diuron.
- In Sugar Cane, addition of Sodium 2,4-D aids in short-term Nutgrass and sedge suppression.
TANK MIXTURES:
- Follow all label directions, restraints, drift restraints, mandatory no-spray zones, critical comments, withholding periods, and safety directions for tank mix products.
