GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Nufarm Biffo - Overview:

  • Nufarm Biffo is a non-volatile herbicide with non-selective activity against many annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and grasses.
  • It is absorbed by plant foliage and green stems, killing the contacted part of a green plant.
  • No residual weed control is provided.
  • Visible control symptoms appear in 3 to 7 days, with complete desiccation taking 20 to 30 days under cool conditions.

Crop Safety:

  • Soil Fumigation/Sterilization: Nufarm Biffo is metabolized by soil microorganisms and may cause damage if applied with soil fumigation or sterilization.
  • Plastic Mulches: Exercise caution when applying over plastic mulches to avoid crop damage upon contact.

Mixing:

  • Mixes easily with water. Use clean water for mixing.
  • Clean the spray tank of residues from previous materials.
  • Fill two-thirds of the tank with water, add Nufarm Biffo with agitator operating, then add other compatible products.
  • Top up the tank with clean water with the agitator running.

Tank Mixtures - Additives:

  • Nufarm Liase (417 g/L ammonium sulfate liquid) can be used as an adjuvant to alleviate adverse effects of high calcium, magnesium, and bicarbonate ions in water.

Application:

  • Summer fallows and XtendFlex cotton:

    • Apply via ground spraying equipment for thorough and even coverage.
    • Application volume of at least 100 L/ha through nozzles delivering a MEDIUM or COARSE spray droplet is recommended.
    • Special care for application in XtendFlex cotton to ensure even distribution of spray across the furrow.
  • Sugarcane:

    • Apply inter-row with directed or shielded/hooded nozzle application.
    • Application volume of 300 to 500 L/ha is recommended for good results.
  • Orchards, plantations, vineyards, other row crops, commercial, industrial, non-food crops, non-agricultural areas, and forestry plantations:

    • Apply via ground spraying equipment for thorough and even coverage.
    • Application volume of 300 to 500 L/ha has given good results.
    • Exercise caution when using sprayer/slasher combination units to avoid dust and turbulence.
  • Boom or Directed Sprayer Equipment:

    • Apply at label rates in sufficient water for thorough coverage.
    • Application volume of 300 to 500 L/ha is recommended.
  • Knapsack and Handgun Equipment:

    • Apply at label rates with adequate water to wet the weeds.
    • Application volume of 500 to 1000 L/ha is recommended.
  • Controlled Droplet Application (CDA) Equipment:

    • Nufarm Biffo may be applied through CDA row spraying equipment.
    • Apply when weeds are less than 15cm in height.
    • Total spray volume of 20 to 30 L/ha is recommended.
    • Note: DO NOT mix residual herbicides or any spray adjuvants with Nufarm Biffo® when using CDA equipment.

Sprayer Clean-Up:

  • Clean all equipment after use by thoroughly flushing with water.

Warning:

  • Take particular care when using Nufarm Biffo through CDA equipment to avoid contact of the spray solution with any part of the crop trunk or canopy.
  • DO NOT apply Nufarm Biffo through equipment fitted with bristle skirts.
  • Exercise caution when using CDA equipment around green or uncalloused bark or exposed roots.
  • Refer to "PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS."
  • CDA equipment must not be used for application in cherry orchards.
