GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

AC CAPO 200 Herbicide Overview:

  • Non-volatile herbicide with non-selective activity against many annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and grasses.
  • Absorbed by plant foliage and green stems.
  • Not significantly translocated throughout the plant; kills only the contacted part of a green plant.
  • No residual weed control provided.
  • Visible control symptoms in 3 to 7 days, complete desiccation may take 20 to 30 days under cool conditions.
  • Best results under good growing conditions.
  • Avoid application to stressed weeds (e.g., severe frosts, dry or waterlogged conditions).

Soil Fumigation / Sterilization:

  • Metabolized by soil microorganisms, becoming inactive.
  • Applying with soil fumigation or sterilization is not advisable due to potential damage to transplants or seedlings.

Plastic Mulches:

  • Remains active on inert surfaces like plastic.
  • Special care needed when applying over plastic mulches to avoid crop damage upon plant contact.

Compatibility:

  • Compatible with most residual herbicides (e.g., simazine, diuron, oxyfluorfen, norfluazuron, oryzalin).
  • Addition of wetting agent generally not considered necessary, but can be beneficial for hard-to-wet weeds with water rates >500 L/ha.
    • Rate: 25 mL/100 L of a 1000 g/L non-ionic wetting agent or equivalent.

Mixing:

  • Mixes easily with water; always use clean water.
  • Ensure the spray tank is free of residues from previous sprays.
  • Two-thirds fill the tank with clean water, add AC CAPO 200 Herbicide with agitator running, add other compatible products, top up to the required volume with clean water and agitator running.

Application Equipment:

  • Ground Sprayers:

    • Aim for thorough and even coverage.
    • Dense weed stands should be thoroughly wetted.
    • Incomplete coverage may result in poor control.
  • Boom or Directed Sprayer Equipment:

    • Apply at label rates in sufficient water for thorough coverage.
    • Recommended water volume: 300 to 500 L/ha for good results under various weed conditions.
    • Exercise caution with sprayer/slasher combination units to avoid dust and turbulence carrying spray into non-target areas.
