GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

AC Carvup 750 Herbicide is a selective herbicide designed for controlling specific weeds in wheat, triticale, barley, oats, and cereal rye. It is suitable for pre-sowing and post-sowing applications. The herbicide is absorbed by foliage and green stems, moving into the root system when used on emerged weeds.

Considerations Before Use:

  • Soil pH: Careful consideration should be given to soil pH. Increased soil pH slows down the breakdown of the herbicide.
  • Soil pH Limit: Do not use on soil with a pH of 8.6 or higher, as extended soil residual activity could affect crop rotation options.
  • Crop Sensitivity: Crops other than wheat, barley, oats, triticale, and cereal rye can be extremely sensitive to low concentrations of the herbicide in the soil. Refer to Crop Rotation Recommendations.
  • Optimal Weed Control: Best results are obtained when rainfall or sprinkler irrigation wets the soil to a depth of 5 to 7.5 cm within 4 weeks of application.

Pre-sowing Incorporated by Sowing:

  • WA Only: Avoid application to dry sandy soils to prevent rapid leaching in early-season rains.
  • SA Only: Seek advice before using rates greater than 15 g/ha on light to medium soils with pH 7 to 8.5.
  • Conventionally Sown Crops: On soils with pH less than 7, apply a spray just before or during sowing. On pH 7 or greater, timing is less critical. Spray on a non-ridged surface free of large clods. Use low profile 10 cm combine points for sowing. Sow at speeds of 10 kph or greater. Use light covering harrows at sowing. If applied to dry soil with delayed sowing, incorporate immediately after spraying to prevent wind erosion.
  • Direct Drilled Crops: Apply tank mixed with either Spray.Seed1 or glyphosate per manufacturer's recommendations.

Post Crop and Weed Emergence:

  • Application Timing (Wheat, Triticale, Cereal Rye): Apply after crop emergence when weeds are small and actively growing. Annual Ryegrass should have no more than 3 leaves, broadleaved weeds should be no more than 5 cm in height or diameter (specific recommendations for Black Bindweed).
  • Application Timing (Barley and Oats): Apply between the 2-leaf stage of the crop (3-leaf stage for SA) and early tillering when weeds are small and actively growing (specific recommendations for Black Bindweed).

Herbicide Group and Resistance Management:

  • AC Carvup 750 Herbicide is a Group B herbicide with the ALS mode of action.
  • Weed resistance to Group B herbicides may occur. Efforts to minimize resistance include using tank mixes and rotations with herbicides having different modes of action effective on the same weed species.

Grazing Advice:

  • Avoid grazing treated areas within 24 hours of application for optimal weed control.
  • Nil withholding period for grazing treated areas when used as directed.

Crop Safety:

  • Detailed restrictions and recommendations for specific crops (wheat, barley, oats) regarding varieties, stages, and conditions are provided. Special care is needed for certain wheat varieties under specific conditions.

Crop Rotation Recommendations:

  • Land previously treated with AC Carvup 750 Herbicide should be rotated only to crops listed in the provided tables.
  • Tolerance of other crops should be determined on a small scale before larger-scale sowing.

Caution:

  • Users are encouraged to consult with farm chemical suppliers, consultants, or local agricultural authorities for strategies to minimize herbicide resistance and manage specific conditions.
