GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

MIXING:

  1. Add water to the spray tank, ensuring a minimum of 100L of water is present before adding any pesticide.
  2. If tank mixing, add any soluble liquid formulations first (e.g., Clopyralid 300 Herbicide) and agitate for about one minute.
  3. Add Choice Halofop 520 at the point of strongest agitation, avoiding strainers or sieves. Allow further agitation for one minute.
  4. Half fill the spray tank.
  5. For wettable powder or water dispersible granules, add after Choice Halofop 520 to the half-full spray tank with vigorous agitation.
  6. Finally, add Penatrol Spray Oil or an approved alternate spraying oil/wetter while continuing agitation. Fill the tank to the required volume, maintaining agitation.

SPRAYING OILS / WETTERS:

  1. Use Penatrol Spray Oil at 0.5 L/100L of spray solution for best results. Alternatively, other oils with a non-ionic wetter may be used.
  2. If other oils are used, mix at 1.0L/100L and add a non-ionic wetter at 200mL/100L of spray solution.
  3. If Penatrol or other oils are not used, a 100% concentrate non-ionic wetting agent (e.g., BS-1000) at 200mL/100L must be used along with the higher rate of Choice Halofop 520.

CANOLA, LUCERNE, MEDIC AND CLOVER PASTURES AND SEED CROPS:

  • When tank mixing with Clopyralid herbicides or Broadstrike, use Penatrol Spray Oil with lower rates of Choice Halofop 520 or a wetting agent with higher rates unless otherwise specified.
  • When mixing with other broadleaf herbicides, DO NOT use oil; instead, use a wetter.

FIELD PEAS AND CANOLA:

  • Recommended oil is Penatrol Spray Oil. Effectivoil is also recommended for tank mixtures of Choice Halofop 520 and Clethodim Herbicide.
  • For canola, Choice Halofop 520 + Clopyralid 750SG + Penatrol Spray Oil is compatible and selective.

NAVY BEANS, PEANUTS, SOYBEANS:

  • When mixing with Blazer or Basagran, DO NOT add spraying oil.
  • Avoid using these tank mixes on cowpea.

APPLICATION:

  • Apply Choice Halofop 520 in sufficient water for good coverage, using an accurately calibrated ground rig or aircraft with droplets of 200 to 300 microns.
  • Recommended spray volumes: Ground application - 50 to 150L/ha, Aerial application - 30L/ha minimum.
  • Use higher water volumes in orchards and dense crops where weeds may be shielded by the crop canopy.

CLEANING SPRAY EQUIPMENT:

  • If broadleaf herbicides, especially sulfonylureas, have been used before Choice Halofop 520, follow the relevant broadleaf herbicide label for equipment cleaning.
  • After using Choice Halofop 520, thoroughly wash the tank, pump, lines, hoses, and nozzles. Rinse and decontaminate before spraying sensitive crops. Avoid chlorine-based cleaners.
