GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
COMMANDO 200 Herbicide Overview:
- Type: Non-volatile herbicide
- Activity: Non-selective against many annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and grasses.
- Absorption: Absorbed by plant foliage and green stems, not significantly translocated throughout the plant.
- Residual Control: Does not provide residual weed control.
- Visible Symptoms: Control symptoms appear in 3 to 7 days, with complete desiccation taking 20 to 30 days under cool conditions.
- Growing Conditions: Best results achieved under good growing conditions; avoid application to stressed weeds.
- Soil Fumigation/Sterilization: Not advisable in conjunction with soil fumigation or sterilization.
Plastic Mulches:
- Caution: COMMANDO 200 remains active on inert surfaces like plastic.
- Special Care: Take care when applying over plastic mulches to avoid plant contact with the mulch after spraying, which may result in crop damage.
Compatibility:
- Compatible with most residual herbicides, glyphosate, metsulfuron-methyl.
- Wetting Agent: Recommended when dealing with hard-to-wet weeds using water rates over 500 L/ha.
- Rate: 25 mL/100 L of a 1000 g/L non-ionic wetting agent or equivalent.
Mixing:
- Mixes easily with clean water.
- Clean water should be used.
- Two-thirds fill the spray tank with clean water, add COMMANDO 200 with the agitator operating.
- Add other compatible products.
- Top up the tank to the required volume with clean water, keeping the agitator running.
Application:
A. Orchards, Plantations, Vineyards, Sugarcane, and Other Row Crops:
- Apply by ground spraying equipment only.
- Aim for thorough and even coverage, wetting dense stands of weeds.
- Equipment Setup: Adequate coverage, penetration, and volume of spray liquid. Care to minimize off-target movement.
- Spray Volume: 300 to 500 L/ha for good results under most weed conditions.
B. Commercial, Industrial, Non-Agricultural Areas, Fencelines, and Forestry Plantations:
- Apply by ground spraying equipment only.
- Thorough and even coverage of spray to the target plant.
- Equipment Setup: Adequate coverage, penetration, and volume of spray liquid. Minimize off-target movement.
- Spray Volume: 300 to 500 L/ha for good results under most weed conditions.
Boom, Shielded/Hooded, or Directed Sprayer Equipment:
- Apply at label rates for thorough coverage.
- Recommended Spray Volume: 300 to 500 L/ha.
Knapsack and Handgun Equipment:
- Apply at label rates with adequate water to wet the weeds.
- Spray Volume: 500 to 1000 L/ha for thorough coverage.
- Dense stands may require up to 1000 L/ha.
Controlled Droplet Application (CDA) Equipment:
- Apply through CDA row spraying equipment with a solid shroud or skirt.
- Apply at recommended rates for boom or directed sprayers.
- Preferably when weeds are less than 15 cm in height.
- Spray Volume: 20 to 30 L/ha for good results.
- Caution: Do not mix residual herbicides or adjuvants with COMMANDO 200 when using CDA equipment.
C. Summer Fallow Situations:
- Apply by ground spraying equipment only.
- Thorough and even coverage of spray to the target weed.
- Equipment Setup: Adequate coverage, penetration, and volume of spray liquid. Minimize off-target movement.
- Application Volume: At least 100 L/ha through nozzles delivering a MEDIUM spray droplet.
Sprayer Clean-Up:
- Clean all equipment after use by thoroughly flushing with water.
