GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Resistant Weeds Warning GROUP El II HERBICIDES:
- Genfarm Diflu-MCPA Selective Herbicide belongs to the phenoxy and nicotinanilide groups, inhibiting carotenoid biosynthesis and disrupting plant cell growth.
- It is both a Group F and a Group I herbicide.
- Resistant weed biotypes may exist, and repeated use may lead to dominance by resistant weeds.
Crop Tolerance:
- Some pre-emergence herbicides, like atrazine, can stress certain crops, especially affecting subterranean clover.
- Cereals may experience transient crop yellowing, but subsequent growth is usually unaffected.
- Oat varieties Esk and Nile tolerance not tested; test a small area before large-scale use.
- Pasture tolerance varies with rate, soil type, crop health, growth stage, and moisture/temperature stress.
- Clover varieties have shown acceptable tolerance to the herbicide at recommended rates under normal conditions.
Effects on Pasture:
- May result in transient crop yellowing and growth suppression, especially at rates exceeding 500 mL/ha and in areas of double spray.
- Recommended application prior to the 8 trifoliate leaf stage to minimize effects.
- Some pasture grasses may show initial reduction in vegetative growth.
- Rose and Strawberry clover are more sensitive; Genfarm Diflu-MCPA may affect the seed yield of subterranean clover variety Woogenellup.
Subsequent Crops:
- To reduce the effect on subsequent susceptible crops (e.g., canola), ensure thorough soil cultivation before sowing.
Mixing:
- Half-fill the spray tank with clean water, add the required amount of product, agitate thoroughly, then add the remainder of the water. Agitate again before spraying.
- Reseal part-used containers immediately.
- Spray mixtures should not be left to stand overnight, and exposure to cold temperatures may result in settling out of the product.
Rubber Components Warning:
- The rubber components in some spraying units may be affected by exposure to the solvents in Genfarm Diflu-MCPA Selective Herbicide and other agricultural products.
- Wash the spray unit thoroughly with a boom cleaner and fresh water after use. Check with the spray unit manufacturer for the suitability of rubber components.
Application - Boom Sprayer:
- A minimum of 50 L of water per hectare should be used, with recommended rates of 70-100 L/ha for optimal results.
- Increase water volume for heavy weed infestation or dense crop cover.
- Complete coverage of weeds is essential.
