GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Tolerance:

  • Some pre-emergence herbicides, such as atrazine, may cause stress to certain crops, leading to increased crop damage. Subterranean clover is particularly sensitive.

Cereals:

  • Transient crop yellowing may occur after application, appearing as yellow or white banding on leaves. Crop development and subsequent growth should be unaffected under normal conditions, provided the crop is not stressed.

Warning (Oats):

  • The tolerance of oat varieties Esk and Nile to Texus has not been tested. Test a small area before widespread use and consult with a Kenso Agcare representative for advice on specific varieties.

Pasture:

  • Tolerance of clover varieties to Texus can vary based on application rate, soil type, crop health, growth stage, and environmental conditions.
  • Texus may result in transient crop yellowing and growth suppression, particularly at rates over 500 mL/ha and in areas of double spray. Application before the 8 trifoliate leaf stage is recommended.
  • Some pasture grasses, including Phalaris and Cocksfoot, may show initial reduction in vegetative growth after Texus application.

Varieties Showing Acceptable Tolerance to Texus (500 mL/ha and less):

  • ArrowLeaf: Zulu
  • Balansa: Paradana
  • Berseem: Sacromonte
  • Persian Clover: Kyambro, Lupers, Maral
  • White Clover: Haifa
  • Subterranean Clover: Daliak, Dalkeith, Denmark, Esperance, Geraldton, Goulburn, Karridale, Larissa, Leura, Mt.Barker, Nungarin, Rosedale, Seaton Park, Trikkala, Woogenellup

Warning:

  • Rose and Strawberry clover are more sensitive to Texus.
  • Texus may affect the seed yield of subterranean clover variety Woogenellup.

Subsequent Crops:

  • To reduce the effect on subsequent susceptible crops (e.g., canola), ensure thorough soil cultivation before sowing these crops.

Mixing:

  • Half-fill the spray tank with clean water, add the required amount of Texus, agitate thoroughly, then add the remaining water. Reseal part-used containers immediately after use. Do not leave spray mixtures containing Texus standing overnight.

Warning:

  • Rubber components in some spraying units may be affected by Texus solvents. Wash the spray unit thoroughly with a boom cleaner and fresh water after use. Check with the spray unit manufacturer for component suitability.

Application:

  • Boom Sprayer:
    • Use a minimum of 50 L water per hectare, with recommended rates of 70-100 L/ha for optimal results. Adjust water volume based on weed infestation and crop cover.
  • Aircraft (NSW, Vic, SA only):
    • Apply in a minimum of 30 L water per hectare for effective weed control, ensuring good coverage of the leaf surface.
