GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Smart Diflufenican 500 SC Selective Herbicide is designed for use as an early post-emergence spray in various crops, including clover-based pasture, field peas, green peas, lentils, and lupins. It provides both contact and residual activity against susceptible weeds. It is essential to follow specific instructions for application, mixing, and precautions to ensure effective and safe use.

USAGE:

• Early post-emergence spray in clover-based pasture, field peas, green peas, lentils, and lupins.
• Pre-emergence spray on lupins in NSW, ACT, Vic, SA, and Tas.

ACTIVITY:

• Provides both contact and residual activity.
• Residual activity can last up to 8 weeks under favorable growing conditions.

WEED CONTROL:

• Absorbed by shoots of germinating seeds and seedlings.
• Susceptible weeds show immediate chlorosis followed by mauve-pink discoloration and eventual necrosis.

CROP EFFECTS:

• Transient crop discoloration may occur.
• Lentils and lupins may show yellow or white banding on leaves.
• Clover and field peas may exhibit white/pink coloration of leaf veins and tips.
• Some crop height reduction may occur.

CONDITIONS:

• Crop should not be under stress from pre-emergent herbicide, disease, insect damage, nutrient deficiency, frost, pH extremes, dry or excessively moist conditions.

MIXING:

• Stir product or invert container before use.
• Half-fill the spray tank with clean water, add the required amount of product, agitate thoroughly, and then add the remaining water.

APPLICATION:

• Ground application recommended with a minimum water rate of 50L/ha.
• Optimum water rates of 70-100L/ha recommended.
• Complete coverage of weeds is essential.
• Higher water volumes (up to 100L/ha) may increase weed control but could enhance crop damage symptoms.

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING:

• Group 12 herbicide.
• Some naturally occurring weed biotypes may be resistant.
• Smart Diflufenican 500 SC may not control resistant weeds.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION:

• Do not contaminate streams, rivers, or watercourses.
• Avoid drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping land, or pastures.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL:

• Store in a cool, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
• Triple-rinse containers before disposal.
• Do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site.
• Follow local regulations for disposal.
