  • DO NOT use on very light sandy or gravelly soils, as crop damage may occur.
  • DO NOT apply to plants under stress.
  • DO NOT use in water-logged areas.
  • DO NOT apply if greater than 50 mm rainfall is expected within 3 days of application.
  • DO NOT irrigate within 3 days of application.
  • DO NOT apply to fields where the slope exceeds 3%.
  • DO NOT spot spray more than 5% of total farm areas.
  • DO NOT apply more than once per calendar year.

Cotton:

  • DO NOT use in cotton UNLESS ALL irrigation tailwater and/or up to 25 mm rainfall can be captured and held on the farm.

Irrigation channels and drains:

  • DO NOT use in irrigation channels or drains UNLESS ALL irrigation tailwater and rainfall can be captured and held on the farm.

RESISTANCE WEEDS WARNING: eChem Diuron 500 SC Herbicide is a member of the Urea group of herbicides. The product has the Inhibitors of photosynthesis at photosystem II mode of action. For weed resistance management, eChem Diuron 500 SC is a Group C Herbicide. Some naturally occurring weed biotypes resistant to eChem Diuron 500 SC and other Inhibitors of photosynthesis at photosystem II herbicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any weed population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds will not be controlled by eChem DIURON 500 SC or other Inhibitors of photosynthesis at photosystem II herbicides. Since the occurrence of resistant weeds is difficult to detect prior to use, eChem Pty. Ltd. accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of eChem Diuron 500 SC to control resistant weeds. However, resistance should not be assumed without viewing the method of application, the coverage, and the timing of application. Consult your local eChem (Australia) Pty Ltd representative or Agronomist for further information.

MIXING: Stir the product or invert the container several times before using, as settling may occur after storage for some weeks. To ensure even mixing, half-fill the spray tank with clean water and add the required amount of the product. Agitate thoroughly and continue agitating while filling the tank. Agitate continuously while carrying out spray operations. Reseal part-used containers immediately after use.

COMPATIBILITY: This product may be mixed in the spray tank with the following active ingredients: Herbicides: 2,4-D entire, 2,4-D ester, 2,4-D sodium salt, 2,4-DB, 2,2-DPA, Amitrole, Chlorsulfuron, Clopyralid, Dicamba, MCPA amine MCPA ester, Paraquat, Paraquat/Diquat, Simazine. Insecticides: Chlorpyrifos, Omethoate. NOTE:

  1. Add the required amount of product when the spray tank containing eChem Diuron 500 SC is nearly full and being continuously agitated.
  2. Information on compatibility is understood to be correct at the time of publication; however, products may vary from time to time. Therefore, a small-scale compatibility test should be carried out before mixing in the spray tank.
  3. Observe any mixing sequence instructions for tank mix products.

APPLICATION: Application should be made to moist soil before weeds emerge unless otherwise recommended. Sufficient moisture in the form of rain or irrigation is necessary after application to move the chemical into the weed root zone. When spraying emerged weeds, add a 100% non-ionic surfactant at 200 mL per 100 L of spray mixture. Best results are obtained when weeds are actively growing.

CROP DAMAGE: If heavy rains occur following application, severe crop damage may result. Risk must be assumed by the user.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEA, AND ENVIRONMENT: Dangerous to fish. DO NOT contaminate dams, rivers, or streams with chemicals or used containers. DO NOT use the container for any other purpose.

PROTECTION OF CROP, NATIVE AND NON-TARGET PLANTS:

  • DO NOT apply under meteorological conditions or from spraying equipment that could be expected to cause spray drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands, or pastures.
  • DO NOT drain or flush equipment or spray near desirable trees or other plants, or on areas where their roots may extend, or in situations, particularly sloping areas, where by movement of treated soil or by seepage, the herbicide may be absorbed by plant roots.
  • DO NOT use on sandy, loamy, or gravelly soils, unless otherwise stated, as crop damage may result.
  • DO NOT replant treated areas within 2 years of application unless otherwise stated.
  • DO NOT plant other crops within one year of application to cotton.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL AND PROTECTION OF OTHERS: Store in the closed original container in a dry, well-ventilated area. DO NOT store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight. Triple or preferably pressure rinse containers before disposal. Add rinsings to the spray tank. DO NOT dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site. If recycling, replace the cap and return clean containers to the recycler or designated collection point. If not recycling, break, crush, or puncture and bury empty containers in a local authority landfill. If no landfill is available, bury the containers below 500 mm in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose clear of waterways, desirable vegetation, and tree roots. Empty containers and the product should not be burnt.

SAFETY DIRECTIONS: Will irritate the eyes. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. When opening the container, preparing spray, and using the prepared spray, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist, a washable hat, and elbow-length PVC gloves. Wash hands after use. After each day's use, wash gloves and contaminated clothing.
