GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Imtrade Eradicator 540 Herbicide

Imtrade Eradicator 540 Herbicide is a non-selective, water-soluble liquid herbicide designed to control a broad spectrum of emerged annual and perennial weeds. It offers no residual activity and becomes inactive upon contact with the soil. The herbicide is absorbed by plant leaves and stems, translocating through the plant to the root system, inhibiting a plant enzyme and leading to the breakdown of the metabolic pathway, resulting in the death of the plant.

Visual Effects:

  • Gradual wilting, yellowing, leading to complete browning.
  • Effects on annual weeds typically visible in 3-7 days, while for perennial weeds, effects may take 14-21 days.
  • Time for effects varies based on translocation speed influenced by climatic conditions.

Optimal Application Conditions:

  • Best results obtained when plants are actively growing and not stressed by factors like disease, water-logging, insect damage, or drought.
  • Recommended to delay spraying if rainfall is expected; rain up to 6 hours after application may reduce efficacy.

Crop Establishment:

  • When used for weed control before establishing a new crop or pasture, ensure a suitable seedbed is present.
  • Lightly covered weeds may allow same-day sowing, but significant dead weed matter requires adequate seedbed preparation.

MIXING AND APPLICATION:

Application Methods:

  • Boom spray, aircraft, knapsack, handgun, or wiper equipment.

Boom Application:

  • Spray volumes of 25-100L water/ha recommended with a fan nozzle at pressures of 240-280 kPa.
  • Set boom height to ensure double overlap of spray patterns at the top of the weed canopy.

Wiper Equipment:

  • Use in specific situations as per the Directions for Use Table.
  • Weeds should be at least 15cm above the crop, and wiper equipment should be operated at least 10cm above the crop.
  • Best results with lower speeds of application (not exceeding 8 km/h) and two applications in opposite directions (double pass).
  • Re-treatment may be required if herbicide does not contact foliage.

Aerial Application:

  • Minimum spray volume of 20L/ha for Micronair and boom equipment.
  • Droplet size should be 250–350 microns, swath width 15–17 meters.
  • Aerial application recommended only in pasture or fallow situations before establishing a new crop or pasture or in pre-harvest sorghum.
  • Adjust spray volume on sloping ground.

Application Caution:

  • Avoid spraying under conditions likely to cause drift (wind over 8 km/h, temperature inversion, still air, hot dry days).
  • Do not apply by aircraft in intensive horticultural areas.
  • Use recommended rates up to a maximum limit of 2.8L/ha.
  • Increase water volume and droplet size in hot conditions (above 25°C).

Surfactant:

  • Addition of surfactant may improve weed control under certain conditions.
  • Suggested surfactant rates: 200 mL/100L of 1000g/L high-quality non-ionic surfactant or 250-500 mL/100L of 700g/L high-quality non-ionic surfactant.
  • Do not add spraying oils, agricultural chemicals, or any other material not directed on the label.

Mixing:

  1. Ensure a clean spray tank.
  2. Half-fill the tank with clean water; add Imtrade Eradicator 540 Herbicide.
  3. Add the rest of the water.
  4. Add surfactant last and agitate thoroughly.

COMPATIBILITY:

  • Imtrade Eradicator 540 Herbicide may be mixed with various products to enhance weed control.
  • Refer to the “Directions for Use” Section for detailed information on tank mix situations.
  • Crystalline ammonium sulfate can minimize antagonism with flowable triazine herbicides.

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE AND USAGE:

  • Store, mix, or apply in plastic or plastic-lined, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, brass, or fiberglass containers.
  • Avoid galvanized steel or unlined steel containers as they may form a combustible gas mixture.
  • Wash all application equipment thoroughly after use to prevent corrosion.
