GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Smart Gone 450 Herbicide is a non-selective herbicide effective against most emerged weeds and plants. Follow these general instructions for optimal use:

  • Absorption and Movement: Absorbed by foliage and green stems, Smart Gone 450 Herbicide moves into the root system. Apply to actively growing weeds.

  • Residual Control: Provides no residual weed control. Can be used before sowing any crop, except before transplanting tomato seedlings.

  • Application Timing: Treat weeds when actively growing. Avoid treating under poor or dormant conditions, reduced effectiveness may result.

  • Rainfall Impact: Rain within 6 hours may reduce effectiveness. Heavy rainfall within 2 hours may necessitate a repeat treatment. Delay treatment if water droplets runoff.

  • Compatibility: Compatible with certain herbicides, insecticides, and additives. (See Compatibility section)

  • Withholding Period: No withholding period for stock, but delay grazing for one day after treatment of annual weeds or 7 days if perennial weeds are present.

  • Toxic Plants: Be cautious with naturally toxic plants (e.g., soursob, variegated thistle). Do not allow stock to graze until complete browning of treated plants.

CROP ESTABLISHMENT

Recommended for controlling emerged weeds before crop establishment. Follow these guidelines:

  • Spray early when weeds are young.
  • If weed density is low and soil is friable, seeding can start as early as one day after spraying.
  • For high weed density, delay sowing until dead weeds decay sufficiently, especially in cold or wet weather.
  • Grazing can help reduce weed density, and cultivation can assist weed decay.

MIXING

  • Mix Smart Gone 450 Herbicide with water. Do not mix, store, or apply in galvanized or unlined steel containers. Use plastic, fiberglass, rubber, aluminum, brass, copper, or stainless steel.
  1. Ensure the spray tank is residue-free.
  2. Half-fill the tank with clean water.
  3. If mixing with other products, add them following label directions.
  4. Add Smart Gone 450 Herbicide, mix well.
  5. Add remaining water. Avoid excessive foaming.
  6. Add non-ionic wetting agent at the end of the process.

SURFACTANT ADDITION

Use non-ionic wetting agents for improved weed control. Add the specified amount per 100L of spray mix:

  • 200 mL of a 1000g/L wetting agent
  • 300 mL of a 600g/L wetting agent

APPLICATION

  • Ground Application:

    • Apply 25-100 L of spray mix per hectare.
    • Use fan nozzle equipment with pressures of 240-280 kPa.
    • Set the boom height for double overlap of nozzle patterns.
  • Aerial Application:

    • Use only in pasture or fallow.
    • Do not exceed 3.2 L/ha.
    • Apply with Micronair or boom equipment.
    • Wash aircraft thoroughly after each day of spraying.

DRIFT WARNING

  • Do not use when the breeze is blowing towards nearby desirable plants.
  • Avoid application under conditions that may cause spray drift.
