GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

APPLICATION Hammer 400EC Herbicide is an emulsifiable concentrate designed to be mixed with water and applied according to the labeled Directions for Use. It serves as a post-emergence herbicide for controlling certain broadleaf weeds like marshmallow before the establishment of fallows, various broadacre crops, and in grass pastures. It can also be used in cotton fields to control volunteer cotton seedlings and for desiccating regrowth.

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING Hammer 400EC Herbicide belongs to the Aryl triazoline group of herbicides and is classified as a Group G herbicide. Some weed biotypes resistant to Hammer 400EC and other Group G herbicides may exist. Continuous use of these herbicides can lead to the dominance of resistant weeds. It's essential to implement weed resistance management strategies to mitigate this risk.

SYMPTOMS Hammer 400EC is quickly absorbed through plant foliage, leading to desiccation and eventual death of susceptible weeds. Environmental factors such as temperature, moisture, and soil conditions can influence its efficacy. Warm, moist conditions may accelerate herbicidal symptoms, while dry conditions may delay them.

COMPATIBILITY Hammer 400EC should be tank mixed with knockdown herbicides like Roundup, Spray.Seed, or Basta, among others. It is also compatible with various partner herbicides typically used with knockdown herbicides. The addition of non-ionic surfactants or oil adjuvants is recommended for certain applications.

TIMING For optimal results, apply Hammer 400EC to small actively growing weeds before they reach the 6 to 8 leaf stage. Best control is achieved when weeds are exposed and not shielded by other vegetation or stubble.

MIXING Add Hammer 400EC to the spray tank after half-filling with water and any required partner herbicides. Maintain good agitation throughout mixing and application. Do not store the spray mixture overnight.

APPLICATION METHODS Ground sprayers are suitable for most applications, ensuring uniform coverage with appropriate nozzles and spray volumes. Aerial application is permitted for cotton desiccation but requires thorough coverage and careful attention to environmental conditions.

SPRAYER CLEAN OUT Thoroughly clean all spray equipment immediately after use, especially when Hammer 400EC is involved. Avoid storing the sprayer with herbicide spray solution remaining, as this can lead to contamination and potential damage.
