GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Ken-Up 500 Flexi is a non-selective foliar absorbed herbicide for controlling emerged weeds only, without residual effects.

  2. Absorbed by green plant tissue, Ken-Up 500 Flexi is translocated throughout the plant, including the root system.

  3. Avoid spraying Ken-Up 500 Flexi if rain is expected within 2 hours. Nighttime spraying should be avoided if rain is expected within 2 hours of sunlight.

  4. No withholding periods apply for Ken-Up 500 Flexi. However, to allow for full translocation, avoid grazing sprayed areas for 24 hours on annual weeds and 7 days for perennial weeds. Take caution with naturally toxic plants like Soursob and Variegated Thistle.

  5. Soil particles and hard water containing calcium or mineral salts can deactivate Ken-Up 500 Flexi. Use only clean water for spray solutions, preferably rainwater or local authority water.

  6. Delay seeding crops until weeds have sufficiently broken down to allow a satisfactory seedbed. Allow 4 weeks between spraying and seeding establishment.

  7. Young weeds can be seeded into from 1 day after treatment. Incorporation of tank mixes of Ken-Up 500 Flexi and Trifluralin 480 can commence 2 hours after spraying.

  8. Effects of Ken-Up 500 Flexi may take 3 to 7 days to become apparent, depending on weather conditions, weed species, and herbicide use rate. Perennial weeds may take 14-21 days to show effects.

  9. For adjusting pH and water hardness, Ken-Up 500 Flexi can be tank mixed with Ken-Buff 700. Add Ken-Buff 700 to the spray water before adding Ken-Up 500 Flexi.

SURFACTANT
Surfactant addition is unnecessary for small, actively growing weeds. For larger or older weeds or when Ken-Up 500 Flexi is tank mixed with other pesticides, Silken at a rate of 100mL per 100L water (except in aquatic situations) can improve activity.

RAINFASTNESS
Ken-Up 500 Flexi is rainfast within 2 hours when applied to small, young weeds. Rainfastness is reduced under stress, low light conditions, or when antagonistic chemicals are added. Silken can enhance rainfastness when applied to large weeds or under less than ideal conditions.

MIXING

  1. Clean the spray tank thoroughly with a chemical residue remover.

  2. Fill half the tank with clean water, add Ken-Up 500 Flexi, then fill with clean water. Avoid using water containing soil or hard water.

  3. Add surfactant or spray oil last, except for Ken-Buff 700.

  4. Agitate well before spraying.

  5. When tank mixing with other chemicals, add Ken-Up 500 Flexi after these chemicals.

TANK MIXTURES
Read and follow all label directions, including restraints, mixing order, plantback periods, withholding periods, regional use restrictions, and safety directions.

APPLICATION

  • Boom Equipment: Apply Ken-Up 500 Flexi in spray volumes of 30-100L per hectare, using flat fan nozzles generating Medium droplet sizes, at pressures in the range of 240-280kPa. Adjust boom height for a double overlap of nozzle patterns at the top of the weed canopy. Use fine nozzles for lower water volumes and maintain a spraying speed below 20kph.
