Kenso Agcare Kenstrike Herbicide - General Instructions

MIXING:

  • Quarter-fill the spray tank.
  • Add the required amount of Kenstrike Herbicide.
  • Add the remaining water with the agitator running.
  • Add Uptake Spraying Oil or the wetting agent last (if used).
  • Maintain agitation during spraying.
  • Mix only sufficient spray solution for immediate use and avoid storing.

When Tank Mixing:

  1. Add Kenstrike to the tank first.
  2. Follow with wettable powders or other dry flowable formulations, suspension concentrates (flowables), aqueous concentrates (e.g., Ken-Trel Herbicide), emulsifiable concentrates (e.g., Haloxyken 520 Herbicide).
  3. Add Uptake Spraying Oil or wetting agent last (if used).

APPLICATION:

  • Apply Kenstrike in 50 to 150 litres of water per hectare through an accurately calibrated boom sprayer.
  • For aircraft application, apply in no less than 30 L/ha of water through accurately calibrated equipment.
  • Apply using accurately calibrated ground rig or aircraft delivering medium-quality spray based on BCPC specifications and in accordance with ASAE standard S-572.
  • Best results are achieved on warm, sunny days with a total spray volume of more than 50 L/ha (preferably more than 75 L/ha), maximizing spray coverage.

COMPATIBILITY:

  • Allow 7 days between application of a grass herbicide and Kenstrike in chickpeas and field peas.
  • Tank mix with caution in lentils, as certain combinations may result in transient height reduction, crop discoloration, and delayed flowering.
  • Kenstrike is compatible with various adjuvants, broadleaf herbicides, grassweed herbicides, insecticides, fungicides (lentils only), and foliar fertilizers.

CLEANING SPRAY EQUIPMENT:

  1. Empty the tank completely and drain the whole system.
  2. Thoroughly wash inside the tank using a pressure hose.
  3. Drain the tank and clean any filters in the tank, pump, lines, and nozzles.
  4. Rinse the tank twice by quarter-filling with clean water and circulating through the system.
  5. To decontaminate before spraying sensitive crops, wash, rinse, and circulate an alkali detergent through the system for at least fifteen minutes.

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING:

  • Kenstrike Herbicide belongs to the triazolopyrimidine sulfonanilide (sulfonamide) group and has the acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitor mode of action.
  • It is a Group B herbicide.
  • Resistant weed biotypes may exist, and repeated use may lead to dominance of resistant individuals.
  • Kenso Corporation accepts no liability for losses resulting from the failure of the product to control resistant weeds.
  • Strategies to minimize the risk of herbicide resistance are available. Contact your farm chemical supplier, consultant, local Department of Agriculture, or local Kenso Agcare representative.
