Weed Force Longreach Herbicide - General Instructions:

1. Herbicide Overview:

  • Weed Force Longreach Herbicide is a pre-emergent herbicide absorbed through the root system.
  • Best applied to bare moist soil; if vegetation is present, use a knockdown herbicide.
  • Very insoluble in water, usually remaining in the top 5cm of soil.
  • Inactivated by absorption onto charcoal, carbonaceous materials, muck solid, or soils high in organic matter.

2. Tree Plantations Tolerance:

  • Certain tree species are tolerant; test tolerance before treating other species.
  • Tolerant species include Araucaria, Corymbia, Eucalyptus, and Pinus plantations.

3. Integrated Weed Management Strategy for TT Canola:

  • Subject to a strategy for the use of triazine herbicides in triazine-tolerant (TT) canola.
  • Includes integrated weed management, crop plant volunteer and outcrossing management, and triazine herbicide residue management.
  • Compliance with the strategy helps minimize herbicide resistance and environmental impact.

4. Resistance Management:

  • Avoid dry sowing in heavily weed-infested paddocks. Use pre-plant knockdown or cultivation.
  • Adapt weed control based on the anticipated weed spectrum.
  • Differentiated approaches for broadleaf weeds, ryegrass, or broadleaf weeds only.
  • Watch for escapes, especially in paddocks with a history of Group C herbicide use.
  • Report resistant weeds. Collect and test samples for professional advice.

5. Triazine Carry Over and Maximum Rates:

  • On acid soils (pH < 6.5), the maximum rate is 2.2 kg ai/ha; on alkaline soils (pH > 6.5), it is 1.1 kg ai/ha.
  • For post-emergence use, recommended to use atrazine 900 g/kg only, and at rates of 1.1 kg ai/ha or less.

6. Mixing Instructions:

  • Fill spray tank 60 - 80% with clean water before adding the product. Agitate vigorously throughout.
  • Add Foam-Ex at 20mL/1000L water before adding Simazine 900 to prevent excessive foaming.
  • Pour the required amount of product steadily into the tank for complete dispersion. Do not dump all at once.
  • Continue agitation during spraying. Do not leave the spray solution standing in the tank overnight.

7. Application:

  • Use boom sprayer or knapsack for small areas. Apply 50 – 200L of mixture per hectare with the boom.
  • A minimum equivalent to 500L per hectare through the knapsack sprayer.
  • Clean spray equipment immediately after use with a tank and equipment cleaner.
  • For TT Canola, do not apply by aircraft; use a low boom sprayer with specified buffer zones.

8. Soil Moisture:

  • If sufficient rain hasn't fallen within 14 days, water in with the equivalent of 13 mm of rain.
  • Under dry conditions without irrigation, mechanical incorporation within 7 days of sowing may assist results.

9. Compatibility:

  • Compatible with Weed Force Evict 700, Weed Force Evict 360, Weed Force Renovate, Macspred Sulfomac, Macspred Clomac, Macspred Eucmix Preplant.
  • Add Longreach to the tank first, ensuring complete dispersion before adding other products.
