GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Monaco Herbicide is a selective herbicide absorbed by foliage and roots, acting by inhibiting acetolactate synthase (ALS), essential for root and shoot growth in sensitive plants. It's used in wheat and triticale for pre-plant and post-emergent control of specific weeds.

PRE-EMERGENT USE:

  • Apply to bare soil before sowing or at sowing, incorporating by the sowing operation.
  • Incorporate immediately if applied to dry soil with delayed sowing to prevent wind erosion.
  • Best results with moist soil and expected rainfall within 7-10 days.
  • Weeds may emerge but become stunted and uncompetitive soon after application.

POST-EMERGENT USE:

  • Apply to young, actively growing weeds; higher rates for heavy weed pressure and larger weeds.
  • Follow up spray may be necessary for subsequent germinations.
  • Best results with rainfall wetting soil to a depth of 5 to 7.5 cm within 7-10 days.
  • Weeds become stunted soon after application, with final results appearing in some weeks.
  • Reduced control in adverse conditions: dry, waterlogged, frosty, diseased, nutrient deficiency, high insect pressure, or previous herbicide treatment.

CROP ROTATION GUIDELINES:

  • Wheat and triticale can be planted the following season without restrictions after applying at the rate of 20 to 25 g/ha.
  • Other specified crops can be replanted after the indicated interval in the provided table.

MIXING:

  • Water dispersible granular herbicide, mixes readily with water.
  1. Partly fill the spray tank with water.
  2. Start agitation.
  3. Add the correct amount of product with agitation.
  4. Continue agitation while topping up the tank with water and during spraying.
  5. In tank mixes, ensure Monaco Herbicide is in suspension before adding companion products or paraffinic oil.
  6. Use the spray mix within 24 hours.

APPLICATION:

  • Apply by boom spray with a FINE to MEDIUM spray quality.
  • Use 40 to 100 liters of water per hectare; higher volumes for dense crops or weed stands.
  • Avoid overlapping of boom runs.
  • Do not apply by aircraft.

SPRAYER CLEANUP:

  • When spraying wheat or triticale, rinse thoroughly with water.
  1. For other crops:
    • Drain and rinse tank and spray boom with clean water for at least 10 minutes.
    • Fill the tank with clean water, add 300 mL of household chlorine bleach per 100 L, rinse hoses and boom, leave for 15 minutes with agitation.
    • Drain through nozzles.
    • Repeat chlorine bleach rinse and then thoroughly rinse with clean water.
    • Clean nozzles and filters separately.
    • Dispose of cleaning water.
  2. Caution: Do not use chlorine bleach with ammonia.

COMPATIBILITY:

  • Compatible with tri-allate, glyphosate, diquat, paraquat, trifluralin.
  • For post-emergent treatment, compatible as a 2-way mixture with clopyralid, MCPA LVE, diflufenican & MCPA (Tigrex) with added paraffinic oil.
  • Can be mixed with DC Trate®.
  • Incompatible with tralkoxydim, dicamba, diclofop-methyl, terbutryn, omethoate, and dimethoate.

Always read and follow label directions for specific guidelines, restraints, plant back, withholding periods, and safety instructions. In tank mixes, ensure Monaco Herbicide is in suspension before adding companion products or surfactants
