GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Smart Pass 450 Herbicide Overview:
- Smart Pass 450 Herbicide is a water-soluble liquid with non-selective herbicidal activity against broadleaf weeds.
- It controls emerged weeds only and provides no residual control. Visible effects may take 7-21 days.
- Absorbed by plant foliage, it accumulates in growth regions, disrupting nutrient synthesis and causing yellowing, wilting, browning, and deterioration of above-ground growth.
Application Timing:
- Apply to emerged weeds under favorable conditions.
- Do not treat weeds under poor growing or dormant conditions (drought, waterlogging, disease, insect damage, frost, heavily covered with dust or silt).
- Rainfall within 6 hours of application may reduce effectiveness.
- Do not spray in strong winds.
Crop Establishment:
- Recommended as a herbicide additive to glyphosate for controlling emerged weeds before crop establishment.
- Observe Plant Back Periods to ensure safe sowing.
- Factors affecting the degradation process include moisture, temperature, and soil characteristics.
- Conditions that may delay crop germination include heavy green or decaying weed growth, soil compaction, cold and wet soils, deep seeding, and prior use of residual herbicides.
- Recommended practices to minimize effects include reducing weed bulk, producing a friable seedbed, avoiding certain pre-emergent herbicides, and using the correct seeding depth.
Application Equipment:
Boom Equipment:
- Recommended spray volumes: 25-100L/ha, with higher volumes for specific herbicides.
- Flat fan nozzle equipment using pressures in the range of 240-280kPa.
- Boom height set to ensure double overlap of nozzle patterns at the top of the weed canopy.
Aerial Equipment:
- Minimum spray volume: 15L/ha using Micronair or boom equipment.
- Droplets with an average size of 250-350 micron diameter are recommended.
- Swath width: 15-17 meters.
- Adjustments for high temperatures: Increase water volume to 30L/ha, increase droplet size to at least 300 micron diameter. Do not apply by aircraft above 35°C.
- Do not use in intensive horticultural cropping areas.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Use stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, fiberglass, or plastic-lined containers for mixing, storing, and applying spray solutions.
- Do not use galvanized steel or unlined steel containers or spray tanks, as reactions may produce combustible hydrogen gas.
- Thoroughly clean equipment after use.
Compatibility and Surfactant Addition:
- Compatible with various herbicides, insecticides, and adjuvants as specified in the compatibility and surfactant addition sections.
- Surfactant addition is not recommended except in conservation tillage where it is to be tank-mixed with Glyphosate 450g/L.
- Use specified surfactants or adjuvants according to label directions.
Tank Mixtures:
- Smart Pass 450 Herbicide is designed for tank mixing with Glyphosate 450g/L.
- It can be tank mixed with other herbicides, insecticides, and adjuvants for extended/improved weed control.
- Follow label directions, restraints, plant back periods, withholding periods, and safety directions for tank mix products.
Mixing Instructions:
- Fill the spray tank with clean water to half of the required amount and start agitation.
- Add recommended acidifying surfactant if required.
- Add herbicide additive/insecticide and mix thoroughly.
- Add Smart Pass 450 Herbicide and mix thoroughly.
- Add Glyphosate 450g/L and the remaining water.
- If using non-ionic surfactant, add near the end of the filling process to minimize foaming.
- Maintain adequate agitation during application and use the tank mix promptly.
