GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Rifle 440 Herbicide is a selective herbicide designed for the control of most annual grasses and certain broadleaf weeds. It works by inhibiting seedling development and does not control established weeds. Proper application techniques and conditions are crucial for optimal results.

APPLICATION TIMING:

  • Apply Rifle 440 when seedbeds are free of weeds, trash, and clods.
  • Avoid applying to poorly prepared seedbeds or during cold, wet weather.
  • Soils with high organic matter (>6%) may result in poor control.

CROP SAFETY:

  • Crop injury may occur if cold, wet weather follows planting or if applied to a poorly prepared seedbed.
  • Crops usually recover and resume normal growth with the return of favorable conditions.

MIXING:

  • When using Rifle 440 alone, add it to a partially filled tank with agitation running, then add the remainder of the water.
  • In tank mixes, add Rifle 440 last after mixing other products as per their labels.

TANK MIXTURES:

  • Follow all label directions, including restraints, spray drift restraints, mandatory no-spray zones, withholding periods, regional use restrictions, and safety directions.
  • Thoroughly mix Rifle 440 with Shirquat® 250 and Gladiator herbicides before adding other products.

APPLICATION METHOD:

Ground Application:

  • Use conventional sprayers with either mechanical or bypass agitation.
  • Flat fan nozzles should be used for proper application.
  • Calibrate spray equipment to ensure accurate application.
  • Apply the recommended quantity of Rifle 440 in 50-200L of water per hectare.

Aerial Application:

  • Only for pre-plant soybeans, cotton, sunflowers, peanuts, navy beans, cowpeas, mung beans, pigeon peas, and post-plant, post-flushed combine-sown rice.
  • Apply the recommended quantity of Rifle 440 in 25-60L of water per hectare.
  • Ensure proper calibration, maintain an even spray pattern, and do not apply if wind speed exceeds 16km/hour.

Incorporation:

  • Thoroughly mix Rifle 440 with soil through mechanical means, irrigation, or rainfall.
  • Adequate rainfall or irrigation within 7-10 days after treatment is essential for incorporation.
  • Light mechanical incorporation is required if no rain or irrigation is received within 7-10 days, except for maize, carrots, and rice.

Cereal Seed Dressing:

  • Some fungicidal seed dressings may affect emergence, especially if sown too deep.
  • Ensure good seed depth control and sow just below (1cm) the chemically treated band when using Rifle 440 with cereal seed dressings.

Weather Conditions at Planting:

  • Crop injury may result from cold weather after planting.
  • Crops usually recover with the return of favorable growing conditions.

Note: Rifle 440 may stain any objects it contacts, so keep non-target items clear of the product and spray.
