GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

  • Cotton: DO NOT PLANT TREATED SEED USING AN AIR PLANTER.

  • RIZOLEX 100D does not control Pythium spp. and should only be applied to seed previously treated with a fungicide registered for this purpose, e.g., metalaxyl. The use of RIZOLEX 100D on untreated seed may lead to an increase in the incidence of disease induced by Pythium spp. RIZOLEX 100D may be applied to seed previously treated with quintazene, thiodicarb, or acephate.

  • Treatment of seed with RIZOLEX 100D may affect the flow rate of seed, and planters should be calibrated in the field using untreated seed. The function of electronic monitors fitted to planting equipment may be impaired by the presence of dust with the seed.

  • Potatoes: RIZOLEX 100D ensures protection of potatoes from seedborne Rhizoctonia solani. Best results will be obtained where other crop management practices (including crop rotation) are employed to reduce Rhizoctonia solani infection level in the soil. Care should be taken to evenly distribute the chemical over the seed pieces without creating excess airborne dust. This can be achieved by pouring the product over successive layers of tubers as the hopper is being loaded. Cup-type planters are particularly effective in distributing RIZOLEX 100D. The normal operation of the planter will provide further mixing of seed and chemical in the base of the hopper. If additional seed treatments (e.g., Mancozeb) are to be used, these should be made before the application of RIZOLEX 100D.

  • Fungicide Resistance Warning: For fungicide resistance management, RIZOLEX 100D Fungicide is a Group X Fungicide. Some naturally occurring individual fungi resistant to RIZOLEX 100D Fungicide and other Group X fungicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any fungal population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungal population if these fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant fungi will not be controlled by RIZOLEX 100D Fungicide or any other Group X fungicides, thus resulting in a reduction of efficacy and possible yield loss. Since the occurrence of resistant fungi is difficult to detect prior to use, Sumitomo Chemical Australia Pty Ltd accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of this product to control resistant fungi.

  • For the control of Rhizoctonia solani in cotton and seedborne Rhizoctonia solani in potatoes.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEA, AND ENVIRONMENT

  • Dangerous to fish. DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers, or waterways with the chemical or used containers.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

  • Store in the closed, original container in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight. Shake empty bag into the spray tank. DO NOT dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site. Puncture or shred and bury empty containers in a local authority landfill. If no landfill is available, bury the containers below 500mm in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose clear of waterways, desirable vegetation, and tree roots. Empty containers and product should not be burnt.
