General Instructions - Rygrex Herbicide
Resistance Warning: Rygrex belongs to the phenoxy and nicotinanalide groups of herbicides (Group F and Group I). It inhibits carotenoid biosynthesis and disrupts plant cell growth. Weed resistance may occur through genetic variability. Rygel Australia Pty Ltd is not liable for losses due to resistant weeds.
Tolerance:
Some crops, like sub-clover, may experience stress with certain pre-emergence herbicides, particularly atrazine.
Cereals may show transient yellowing after application, but subsequent growth is usually unaffected.
Oats tolerance (varieties Esk and Nile) has not been tested; test a small area before widespread use.
Clover varieties' tolerance varies with factors like rate of application, soil type, crop health, growth stage, and environmental conditions.
Pasture:
Rygrex may cause transient crop yellowing and growth suppression, especially at rates exceeding 500mL/ha.
Recommended application prior to the 8 trifoliate leaf stage.
Some clover varieties show tolerance at lower rates (500mL/ha and less) under normal conditions.
Rose and Strawberry clover are more sensitive; Woogenellup may be affected. Test other varieties before large-scale use.
Subsequent Crops:
Thoroughly cultivate soil before sowing susceptible crops (e.g., canola) to minimize the herbicide's effect.
Mixing:
Half-fill the spray tank with water, add Rygrex, agitate, then add the remaining water.
Reseal the container immediately after use.
Spray mixtures containing Rygrex should not stand overnight.
Rubber Component Warning:
Solvents in Rygrex may affect rubber components in spraying units.
Wash the spray unit thoroughly with a boom cleaner and fresh water after use.
Check with the spray unit manufacturer for component suitability.
Application:
Boom Sprayer: Use a minimum of 50L/ha, recommended 70-100L/ha for optimum results. Increase water volume for heavy weed infestation or dense crop cover.
Aircraft (NSW, Vic, SA only): Apply in a minimum of 30L water per hectare for effective control with good leaf surface coverage.
