GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

The product is a pre- and post-emergence herbicide for controlling certain broad-leaved weeds and grasses. For post-emergence applications, weeds should be at the seedling to 4-leaf stage. Prior to sowing any follow-up crops other than beet or ryegrass, thoroughly till treated areas, including ploughing.

1. BEET CROPS:

   • Slight foliage distortion may occur; short-lived effects do not affect crop yield.
   • Pre-emergence treatment can be followed by post-emergence Betanal* application.

2. USE OF SCANNER 500 SC IN MIXTURE WITH Betanal ON BEET CROPS:

   • Carefully read Betanal label; note warnings in temperatures above 30°C.
   • Recommended for wider spectrum post-emergence weed control.
   • Apply at least six (6) hours before rainfall or irrigation.

3. RYEGRASS:

   • Reduces clover stands by 40-60%.
   • For barley grass control, apply to closely grazed pasture (3-5 cm high).
   • Remove organic matter; retreatment may be necessary.
   • In dense barley grass areas, drill or oversow with ryegrass soon after treatment.

4. TURF:

   • Apply before or early after Winter Grass germination in fine turf situations.
   • Selective in various grass types when applied as directed.
   • Monthly applications for 3-4 months control Winter Grass without affecting desirable turf.
   • No oversowing or reseeding within one month of spraying.

MIXING

• SCANNER 500 SC is a suspension concentrate; gently invert or roll container before pouring.
• Part-fill the spray tank with clean water, add the correct amount of SCANNER 500 SC, and top up with water.
• Thorough agitation is necessary before spraying.
• Mix only enough chemical for immediate use.
• When mixing with Betanal, stir while adding required quantities, and use as soon as possible.

APPLICATION

• Apply in a suitable volume of water for even coverage.
• For pre-emergence, apply to moist soil surface.
• Set nozzles at the correct height (50-60 cm above pasture or crop).
• Use a fine spray (200-300 kPa); clean, undamaged, and correct type/size nozzles.
• Do not use impact nozzles or broadcast nozzle clusters.
• Wash equipment thoroughly after use.

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING

• SCANNER 500 SC is a Group J herbicide; manage weed resistance.
• Some weed biotypes may be resistant to SCANNER 500 SC; monitor for resistance.

PROTECTION AND DISPOSAL

• DO NOT apply under conditions causing spray drift onto nearby plants/crops.
• DO NOT contaminate waterways with the chemical or used containers.
• Store in a cool, well-ventilated area; avoid prolonged sunlight exposure.
• Rinse containers before disposal; follow proper waste management practices.
• DO NOT burn empty containers or product.
