GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Mode of Action: Sickle 540 Herbicide is a non-selective water-soluble liquid herbicide effective against a wide range of emerged annual and perennial weeds. Once absorbed by plant leaves and stems, it inhibits a plant enzyme, disrupting the metabolic pathway and causing plant death. Visual effects include gradual wilting, yellowing, and eventual browning of the plant.
Crop Establishment: Before sowing a new crop or pasture, ensure weeds are adequately controlled and a suitable seed bed is prepared. Sow the crop only after appropriate weed management and seed bed preparation.
Mixing and Application:
Boom Application: Recommended spray volumes and pressures are specified. Ensure double overlap of spray patterns for effective coverage.
Wiper Equipment: Operate wiper equipment at least 10 cm above the crop. Lower speeds and double-pass application are recommended for optimal results.
Aerial Application: Apply minimum spray volumes with specified droplet sizes and swath widths. Adjust spray volume on sloping ground.
Application in Hot Conditions: Increase water volume and droplet size to compensate for evaporation in hot conditions. Avoid aerial application in temperatures above 30°C.
Surfactant: Addition of surfactant may enhance weed control, especially in high water rate or low product rate situations. Follow recommended rates and do not mix with incompatible substances.
Mixing: Use clean water for mixing. Dirty water or water containing calcium salts may reduce effectiveness. Follow the specified mixing procedure for optimal results.
Compatibility: Sickle 540 Herbicide can be mixed with various products to broaden weed control spectrum and add residual control. Refer to the label for detailed information on tank mix situations and compatibility with additives and herbicides.
Equipment Maintenance and Usage: Store, mix, and apply Sickle 540 Herbicide only in compatible containers. Avoid contact with galvanized steel and unlined steel tanks, as it may produce hydrogen gas, posing an explosion risk. Thoroughly wash all application equipment after each use to prevent corrosion.
Ensure strict adherence to all safety precautions and label instructions for proper handling, mixing, and application of Sickle 540 Herbicide.
