GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING AC SUNDOWNER is classified as a Group F and Group I herbicide, belonging to the phenoxy and nicotinanalide groups. It inhibits carotenoid biosynthesis and disrupts plant cell growth. Weed resistance management is crucial, as repeated use may lead to the dominance of resistant weed biotypes. Axichem Pty Ltd holds no liability for losses resulting from AC SUNDOWNER's failure to control resistant weeds.

Tolerance:

  • Some pre-emergence herbicides, like atrazine, may stress certain crops, especially sub-clover.

Cereals:

  • Transient crop yellowing may occur, but crop development and growth are usually unaffected under favorable conditions.
  • Oats (varieties Esk and Nile in Tasmania) tolerance to AC SUNDOWNER is untested; conduct a small-scale test before widespread use.

Pasture:

  • Clover varieties' tolerance varies with application rate, soil type, crop health, growth stage, and moisture-temperature stress.
  • AC SUNDOWNER may cause transient crop yellowing and growth suppression, particularly at rates above 500mL/ha and in double spray areas.
  • Subterranean Clover varieties like Daliak, Dalkeith, Denmark, etc., show tolerance at 500mL/ha under normal conditions.

Warning:

  • Rose and Strawberry clover are more sensitive to AC SUNDOWNER.
  • Some pasture grasses, including Phalaris and Cocksfoot, may show initial growth reduction; test unlisted varieties before widespread use.

Subsequent Crops:

  • Thorough soil cultivation before sowing susceptible crops (e.g., canola) reduces the impact of AC SUNDOWNER.

Mixing:

  • Half-fill the spray tank with clean water, add AC SUNDOWNER, agitate thoroughly, and then add the remaining water.
  • Reseal part-used containers immediately. Do not leave spray mixtures containing AC SUNDOWNER overnight.
  • Cold temperatures may cause settling out of the product; avoid prolonged exposure.

Warning:

  • Rubber components in some spraying units may be affected by AC SUNDOWNER's solvents. Wash the unit thoroughly after use to reduce the risk.

Application:

Boom Sprayer:

  • Use a minimum of 50L water per hectare, but for optimal results, water rates of 70-100L/ha are recommended.
  • Increase water volume for heavy weed infestation or dense crop cover.
  • Complete coverage of weeds is essential.

Aircraft (NSW, Vic, SA only):

  • Apply in a minimum of 30L water per hectare, ensuring good coverage of leaf surfaces for effective control.

Compatibility:

  • AC SUNDOWNER is physically compatible with specific products for use as a two-way mixture in the spray tank, but only for specified crops. Refer to product labeling for details.
