GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Sunphosate 680 WG Herbicide

Mode of Action: Sunphosate 680 WG Herbicide is a non-volatile, water-soluble herbicide with non-selective herbicidal activity against various annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and grasses. It is absorbed by plant foliage and green stems, moving through the plant from the point of contact to the root system. The herbicide is inactivated immediately in the soil and does not provide residual weed control.

Crop Applications:

  • Suitable for weed control on agricultural land before planting any edible or non-edible crops.
  • Not to be used before transplanting tomatoes.

Weed Control:

  • Visible effects on annual weeds may take 3 to 7 days.
  • For perennial weeds, effects may not be obvious for 2 to 3 weeks or longer, especially in cool or cloudy weather.
  • Controls emerged weeds only with no residual weed control.
  • Apply to weeds with at least one true leaf (broadleaf) or two leaves (grasses).

Crop Establishment:

  • Recommended for controlling emerged weeds before crop establishment.
  • Suitable cultivation and/or sowing operations required for satisfactory seedbed conditions.
  • Delay sowing in areas of heavy weed growth until suitable seedbed conditions are met.

Mixing:

  • Boom application should have water volumes not less than 6 L per 1 kg of Sunphosate 680 WG Herbicide.
  • Do not use water containing soil or hard water with calcium salts.
  • Do not mix, store, or apply in galvanized steel or unlined steel containers.
  • Use stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, fiberglass, plastic, or plastic-lined containers.
  • Thoroughly clean equipment after use with clean water to prevent corrosion.

Surfactant Addition:

  • Additional surfactant is not required except when the rate of Sunphosate 680 WG Herbicide is less than 6 g/L when applied by boom.
  • Do not mix with spraying oils, agricultural chemicals, or other materials unless directed on the label.

Tank Mixtures:

  • Compatible with certain herbicides, insecticides, and additives.
  • Follow all label directions, restraints, plant-back periods, withholding periods, regional use restrictions, and safety directions for tank-mix products.

Application:

  • Non-selective translocated herbicide.
  • Direct spray contact or drift may cause severe injury or destruction to any growing crop or desirable plants, including trees.
  • Clean all equipment after use thoroughly with water.

Boom Equipment:

  • Recommended spray volume of 60 L/ha or less for broadacre application.
  • Use fan nozzle equipment with pressures in the range of 240−280 kPa.

High Volume Application:

  • Use dilution rate of 5 g Sunphosate 680 WG Herbicide per 1 L of water for high volume application.
  • Adjust equipment for even spray pattern.

Aerial Equipment:

  • Use aerial equipment only in pasture or fallow situations before establishing field crops, fodder crops, or new pastures.
  • Do not use in intensive horticultural cropping areas.
  • Thoroughly wash aircraft, especially landing gear, after each day of spraying to remove herbicide residues.

Application Check List:

  • Avoid treating weeds under poor or dormant growing conditions.
  • Do not add additional surfactant or mix with other agricultural chemicals, herbicides, oils, or materials unless directed on the label.
  • Rainfall soon after application may wash the herbicide off weeds.
  • Delay treatment of plants wet with dew or rain.
  • Do not disturb treated weeds by cultivation, sowing, or grazing for specific periods after treatment.

Caution:

  • Drift onto nearby susceptible plants, adjacent crops, crop lands, or pastures should be avoided.
  • Fine droplets, winds over 8 km/h, inversion conditions, still air, and hot dry days contribute to drift.
