GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Mode of Action: Surefire WeedPro 540 Bio Herbicide is a water-soluble liquid herbicide with non-selective properties. It controls a wide range of emerged annual and perennial weeds by inhibiting a plant enzyme, leading to the breakdown of the metabolic pathway and subsequent plant death. The product is absorbed by plant leaves and stems, translocating through the plant to the root system. It provides no residual activity and is inactivated upon contact with the soil.

Visual Effects:

  • Gradual wilting, yellowing, and complete browning signify the efficacy of the product.
  • Effects on annual weeds are usually visible in 3-7 days, while perennial weeds may take 14-21 days.
  • Time to visible effects varies based on climatic conditions.

Rainfastness:

  • Rainfall within 1 hour of application causing run-off may require retreatment.
  • Rainfastness is reduced under conditions of low light intensity, darkness, or when weeds are not actively growing.

Crop Establishment:

  • When used before crop or pasture establishment, ensure a suitable seedbed is present.
  • Delay sowing until a light cover of seedling annual weeds has been adequately treated.

Mixing and Application:

  • Apply by boom spray, aircraft, knapsack, handgun, or wiper equipment.
  • Boom Application: Spray volumes of 25-100 L water/ha with a fan nozzle at pressures of 240-280 kPa. Medium to coarse spray is recommended in areas with a risk of herbicide drift.
  • Wiper Equipment: Operate at least 10cm above the crop, with lower speeds of application, and make double passes for best results.
  • Aerial Application: Minimum spray volume of 20 L/ha for Micronair and boom equipment. Use medium or coarse droplet size with a swath width of 15-17 meters. Aerial application is recommended in pasture or fallow situations.
  • Increase water volume and droplet size on sloping ground to minimize drift.

Application in Hot Conditions:

  • When temperature reaches 25°C, increase water volume to at least 30 L/ha and use coarse spray quality.
  • Do not apply by aircraft in temperatures above 30°C.

Surfactant:

  • Addition of a surfactant may improve weed control, especially in high water rates or low product rates.
  • Recommended surfactant rates are provided.

Compatibility:

  • The product may be mixed with various products for enhanced weed control.
  • Additives like crystalline ammonium sulfate help minimize antagonism when mixed with flowable triazine herbicides.

Equipment Maintenance and Usage:

  • Store, mix, or apply only in plastic or plastic-lined stainless steel, aluminum, copper, brass, or fiberglass containers.
  • The product reacts with galvanized steel and unlined steel, forming a combustible gas mixture.

Resistance Warning:

  • Surefire WeedPro 540 Bio Herbicide belongs to Group M herbicides.
  • Weed resistance management is crucial to prevent the dominance of resistant weeds.

Note: Always follow label directions, use appropriate safety equipment, and adhere to local regulations.
