For the control of a range of seed and foliar fungal diseases of barley and wheat and the suppression of rhizoctonia root rot in barley and wheat.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

BARLEY
Disease: Loose smut (Ustilago segetum var nuda)
Suppression of Rhizoctonia root rot (Rhizoctonia solani)
Rate: 150mL/100kg seed
Critical Comments: Apply diluted with sufficient water to ensure even coverage of seed. Apply with an applicator designed for liquid seed treatments. Calibrate application equipment for the flow rate of the grain.
SYSTIVA will provide suppression of Rhizoctonia and reduce severity of disease within the crop.

Disease: Powdery Mildew (Blumeria graminis f.sp. hordei), Net Form of Net Blotch (Pyrenophora teres f. teres), Scald (Rhynocosporium secalis), Spot form of Net Blotch (Pyrenophora teres f. maculata), Leaf rust (Puccinia hordei)
Rate: 150mL/100kg seed
Critical Comments: SYSTIVA is systemic and will provide ongoing residual activity. Typically, greater control can be seen on newly emerged, younger leaves.
Foliar diseases will be controlled in the crop canopy, including upper leaves, up to the time when the crop reaches the following growth stages,:
Powdery Mildew and Leaf Rust will be controlled up to flag leaf emergence – BBCH 37.
Net Form of Net Blotch, Spot Form of Net Blotch and Scald will be controlled up to at least the middle of heading – BBCH 55 (middle of inflorescence emerging),

WHEAT
Disease: Bunt (Tellitia spp.)
Suppression of Rhizoctonia root rot (Rhizoctonia solani)
Rate: 150mL/100kg seed
Critical Comments: Applied diluted with sufficient water to ensure even coverage of seed. Apply with an applicator designed for liquid seed treatments. Calibrate application equipment for the flow rate of the grain.
SYSTIVA will provide suppression of Rhizoctonia and reduce severity of disease within the crop.

NOT TO BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE, OR IN ANY MANNER, CONTRARY TO THIS LABEL UNLESS AUTHORISED UNDER APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION.

WITHHOLDING PERIODS:
GRAZING: DO NOT GRAZE PLANTS GROWN FROM TREATED SEED OR CUT FOR STOCK FOOD WITHIN 4 WEEKS OF SOWING
HARVEST: NOT REQUIRED WHEN USED AS DIRECTED

LIVESTOCK DESTINED FOR EXPORT MARKETS
The grazing withholding period only applies to stock slaughtered for the domestic market. Some export markets apply different standards. To meet these standards, ensure that in addition to complying with the grazing withholding period, the Export Slaughter Interval is observed before stock are sold or slaughtered.

EXPORT SLAUGHTER INTERVAL (ESI)
After observing the withholding period for grazing or cutting for stockfood, livestock that have been grazed on or fed treated crops should be placed on clean feed for 2 days prior to slaughter.

EXPORT OF TREATED CEREALS
Growers should note that Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) or import tolerances do not exist in all markets for cereals treated with SYSTIVA. Additionally, some export markets have established MRLs different to those in Australia. If you are growing cereals for export, please check with BASF or your grain exporter for the latest information on MRLs and import tolerances BEFORE using SYSTIVA.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
SYSTIVA is a broad spectrum systemic fungicide. It inhibits spores germination, mycelial growth and sporulation of the fungus. Application of SYSTIVA to seed will result in control of seed borne loose smut in barley and bunt in wheat, suppression of Rhizoctonia and extended control of foliar diseases as outlined in the Directions for Use table. SYSTIVA treated seed will act as a reservoir and continue to provide systemic movement to the foliage over an extended period of time.

APPLICATION
Apply to seed with equipment which results in even coverage of all seed. SYSTIVA should be mixed with a sufficient volume of water up to a maximum mix volume of 600mL/100kg seed, to ensure a slurry which results in thorough and even coverage of seed.
Storage of Treated Seed
Seed treated with SYSTIVA may be stored in a cool, dry well ventilated place until the following season, with no adverse effects on germination or emergence, however as conditions of storage may not be known, BASF accept no liability for stored treated seed.
When treated seed is stored, it should be kept apart from other grain and the bags or containers should be clearly marked to indicate the contents have been treated with this product. DO NOT use treated seed for human consumption. Bags which have held treated seed are not to be used for any other purpose.

FUNGICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING
GROUP 7 FUNGICIDE
SYSTIVA is a member of the succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) group of fungicides. For fungicide resistance management the product is a Group 7 fungicide.
Some naturally occurring individual fungi resistant to SYSTIVA and other Group 7 fungicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any fungal population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungal population if SYSTIVA is used repeatedly. These resistant fungi may not be controlled by SYSTIVA or other Group 7 fungicides, thus resulting in a reduction in efficacy and possible yield loss.
Since the occurrence of resistant fungi is difficult to detect prior to use, BASF Australia Ltd accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of SYSTIVA to control resistant fungi.
