General Instructions:
Tolerance:
Some pre-emergence herbicides, like atrazine, can stress certain crops, potentially increasing crop damage when using this product. Sub-clover is particularly sensitive.
Cereals may experience transient yellowing after application, but this shouldn't affect crop development or subsequent growth unless other stresses are present.
Warning for Oats: Test varieties Esk and Nile before widespread use, especially in Tasmania.
Pasture:
Tolerance of clover varieties varies with factors like application rate, soil type, crop health, growth stage, and environmental conditions. Increased rates may cause transient yellowing and growth suppression.
Specific clover varieties like Arrow Leaf, Berseem, White, and others show acceptable foliage tolerance at lower rates under normal conditions.
Some grasses like Phalaris and Cocksfoot may initially show reduced vegetative growth.
Subsequent Crops:
Thoroughly cultivate soil before sowing susceptible crops like canola to minimize the effect of residual herbicide.
Mixing:
Half fill the spray tank with water, add the product, agitate thoroughly, then add the remaining water. Reseal the container immediately after use. Do not leave spray mixtures containing Albaugh Tuken Extra Herbicide overnight.
Application:
Boom Sprayer: Use a minimum of 50 L of water per hectare, increasing to 70-100 L/ha for optimal results, especially in heavy weed infestation or dense crop cover. Complete coverage of weeds is crucial.
Aircraft (NSW, Vic, SA only): Apply in a minimum of 30 L water per hectare, ensuring good coverage of leaf surface for effective control.
Warning:
Do not use crop oils with Albaugh Tuken Extra or mix it with other products in cereals without testing compatibility. Rubber components in spraying units may be affected by solvents in the herbicide.
Resistance Warning: Albaugh Tuken Extra Herbicide belongs to Group 4 and Group 12 herbicides. Resistant weed biotypes may develop if used repeatedly, which won't be controlled by this herbicide. It's essential to manage weed resistance effectively.
