GENERAL INFORMATION


CYRUS Insecticide is an insect growth regulator type of insecticide to control leafminers, fungus gnats and shoreflies in greenhouse ornamentals, sciarid flies in mushrooms, leafminer on celery and pea leafminer on members of Crop Group 4 (leafy vegetables except Brassica vegetables),
Crop Group 5B (leafy Brassica greens) and leafminers on outdoor ornamentals. When applied according to the directions given below, CYRUS Insecticide will provide control of leafminers, fungus gnats, shoreflies and sciarid flies by inhibiting the larval stages of these pests. CYRUS
Insecticide may adversely affect some species of predatory mites and leafminer parasitoids. Use with caution in a pest management program utilizing these beneficial arthropods.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE


To protect pollinators, follow the instructions regarding bees in the Environmental Precautions section.
For ornamentals, excluding coniferous evergreens (pine, fir, juniper, spruce, arborvitae, hemlock, cypress, yew, live Christmas trees): Toxic to bee brood. DO NOT apply during the crop blooming period.
For all other crops: Toxic to bee brood. Avoid application during the crop blooming period. If applications must be made during the crop blooming period, restrict applications to evening when most bees are not foraging. When using managed bees for pollination services, DO NOT apply during the crop blooming period.
As this product is not registered for the control of pests in aquatic systems, DO NOT use to control aquatic pests.
DO NOT contaminate irrigation or drinking water supplied or aquatic habitats by cleaning of equipment or disposal of wastes.
DO NOT allow releases effluent or runoff from greenhouses or mushroom houses containing this product to enter lakes, streams, ponds or other waters.
Field sprayer application: DO NOT apply during periods of dead calm. Avoid application of this product when winds are gusty. DO NOT apply with spray droplets smaller than the American Society of Agricultural Engineers (ASAE S572.1) medium classification. Boom height must be 60 cm or less above the crop or ground.
Airblast application: DO NOT apply during periods of dead calm. Avoid application of this product when winds are gusty. DO NOT direct spray above plants to be treated. Turn off outward pointing nozzles at row ends and outer rows. DO NOT apply when wind speed is greater than 16 km/h at the application site as measured outside of the treatment area on the upwind side.
Buffer zones:
Spot treatments using hand-held equipment do not require a buffer zone.
The buffer zones specified in the table below are required between the point of direct application and the closest downwind edge of sensitive terrestrial habitats (such as grasslands, forested areas, shelter belts, woodlots, hedgerows, riparian areas and shrublands), and sensitive freshwater habitats (such as lakes, rivers, sloughs, ponds, prairie potholes, creeks, marshes, streams, reservoirs and wetlands.
Cyromazine has the potential to persist in soil and to carry-over into the subsequent year. Use of CYRUS on the same field in consecutive years should be avoided.
