GENERAL INFORMATION
KROVAR I DF Herbicide is a dry flowable to be mixed in water and applied as a spray on non-crop land areas where bare ground is desired. It is an effective general herbicide for the control of many annual and perennial weeds, and is particularly useful for control of perennial grasses. Effects are slow to appear and may not become apparent until the chemical has been carried into the root zone of the weeds by moisture. The degree of control and duration of effect will vary with the amount of chemical applied, soil type, rainfall, and other conditions.
KROVAR I DF Herbicide is non-corrosive to equipment, non-volatile, and non-flammable.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
KROVAR I DF Herbicide should be used only in accordance with recommendations on this label.
Apply KROVAR I DF Herbicide just before or during the period of active growth of weeds. Sufficient moisture from rainfall or artificial means is necessary after treatment to carry the chemical into the root zone of the weeds. If dense growth is present, results will be improved if vegetation is removed before treatment. Do not apply when ground is frozen.
Before spraying, calibrate equipment to determine the quantity of water necessary to uniformly cover a measured area to be treated. Weigh the proper amount of KROVAR I DF Herbicide and mix into the necessary volume of water (minimum of 20 L per kg of KROVAR I DF Herbicide . Water serves only as a carrier. Material must be kept in suspension at all times by continuous agitation. Except for small areas, use fixed-boom power sprayers properly calibrated to ensure constant rate of application. Openings in screens should be equal to or larger than 50 mesh. Agitate by mechanical or hydraulic means in the spray tank. If by-pass or return line is used, it should terminate at bottom of tank to minimize foaming. Do not use air agitation. For treating small areas, a tank-type hand sprayer or sprinkling can may be used; shake or stir frequently.
DO NOT apply by air.
Do not treat ditches, wellheads, bridge approaches. Do not treat sites that are adjacent to and surrounding water supply reservoirs, supply streams, lakes and ponds.
DO NOT apply directly to aquatic habitats (such as lakes, rivers, sloughs, ponds, prairie potholes, creeks, marshes, streams, reservoirs and wetlands) and estuarine/marine habitats. Do not contaminate the above aquatic habitats when cleaning and rinsing spray equipment or containers.
DO NOT apply during periods of dead calm or when winds are gusty.
Buffer zones: A buffer zone of 65 metres is required between the point of direct application and the closest downwind edge of sensitive aquatic habitats (such as lakes, rivers, sloughs, ponds, prairie potholes, creeks, marshes, streams, reservoirs and wetlands).
When a tank mixture is used, consult the labels of the tank-mix partners and observe the largest (most restrictive) buffer zone of the products involved in the tank mixture.
Apply no more than 33.75 kg of KROVAR I DF Herbicide per hectare per year. Make no more than two applications per year.
GENERAL WEED CONTROL:
To control most weeds on non-cropland areas such as RAILROAD and PIPELINE RIGHTS-OF-WAY, PETROLEUM TANK FARMS, LUMBERYARDS, STORAGE AREAS, AND INDUSTRIAL PLANT SITES:
Apply 13.5 - 18 kg per ha to control annual and perennial grasses and most broadleaved weeds such as crabgrass, foxtail, pigweed, ragweed, quackgrass, wild carrot, and dandelion. Apply KROVAR I DF Herbicide just before or during the period of active growth of weeds.
Use higher rates on soils high in organic matter (5% or more) or on clay soil in Eastern Canada. Use 13.5 kg rate on sand or sandy loam soils only.
RE-TREATMENT:
Apply 6.75 - 9 kg per ha when annual weeds and grasses reappear on sites where weed growth has been controlled.
FOR SMALL AREAS:
180 g of KROVAR I DF Herbicide per 100 m2 is equivalent to 18 kg per ha. Apply in a minimum water volume of 2 L per 100 g.
