Grain bugs are a species belonging to the Hemiptera  order  of the Insecta  class  in the Arthropoda  phylum   , and the Heteroptera  suborder. Under the collective term grain bugs we mean four types of bugs: The  shield bug   includes the  Austrian bug  or  turtle bug  and the  Moor bug  or  nutmeg bug.  For  the  crested beetles the  pipe bug   and the  beaked pipe bug . Their lifestyle and damages are roughly the same

Occurrence
can be found throughout Europe, Asia Minor and North Africa. It occurs practically everywhere in Hungary, of the four species, the Austrian bug is the most common.

Appearance
Stout, oval-bodied insects. The back is flattened, the abdomen is arched. The forelimb is well developed, and the shield is attached to it. They have three pairs of legs and two pairs of wings, the basal part of the front wing is strongly chitinous, and the tip part is membranous. The rear pair of wings are membranous, weakly veined, suitable for flight. The tentacle consists of 4 - 5 tentacles, long, thread-like. Its compound eyes are small. Its mouthparts are stinging and sucking, and the beak is flush with the abdomen when it is at rest. Insects that develop with a version of epimorphosis, monometabolism: egg - larva - pronymph - nymph - adult.
