GENERAL INFORMATION
Calypso is a systemic insecticide for use in various fruit crops including: Apples – for the control of armoured scale, bronze beetle, codling moth, mealybug, Froggat’s apple leaf hopper and Fuller’s rose weevil. Avocados – for the control of thrips. Kiwifruit – for the control of armoured scale. Peaches and nectarines – for the control of thrips. Calypso has systemic and translaminar activity. Calypso is compatible with IPM programmes.
APPLES
Insect Pests: Armoured scale, Bronze beetle, Codling moth, Mealy bug
Use: 30 ml/100 L water with a maximum dose of 600 ml/ha. Apply at petal fall and re-apply when IFP thresholds are exceeded.
Insect Pest: Fullers rose weevil
Use: 30 ml/100 L water with a maximum dose of 600 ml/ha. Apply in November or together with Boost penetrant at 50 ml/100 L of water in December.
Insect Pest: Froggats apple leafhopper
Use: 30 ml/100 L water with a maximum dose of 600 ml/ha. Apply on first appearance of insects; a second application may be required later in the season. Only effective against immature stages; use alternative products for control of adults.
AVOCADOS
Insect Pest: Thrips
Use: 15 ml/100 L of water. Apply when AvoGreen monitoring indicates the thrip threshold has been exceeded, or at the first sign of thrip damage in late summer or autumn. A second application may be necessary three weeks later.
KIWIFRUIT
Insect Pest: Armoured scales
Use: 20 ml/100 L of water. Make two applications, the first at greentip and the second pre-flowering.
PEACHES
Insect Pest: Thrips
Use: 20 ml/100 L of water. Apply from flowering to shuck-fall when pest threshold is reached.
