GENERAL INFORMATION


Clayton Vault is an insecticide for the control of aphids on apples, pears, plums and cherries and for the control of aphids and whitefly on tomatoes, peppers, aubergines and ornamentals.
Clayton Vault is slightly toxic to predatory mites and generally slightly toxic to other beneficials. Avoid late applications in orchards once beneficial numbers have built up. In glasshouses re-introduce beneficials 48 hours after treatment.

Apples, pears, plums, cherries:
Clayton Vault controls a range of aphid species including rosy apple aphids. Effectiveness against woolly aphids has not been confirmed. Application should be made at the first sign of aphid attack.
Where tree height and/or canopy density is reduced, the dose (and water volume) should be adjusted in accordance with an appropriate dose adjustment scheme.

Rate of application:
Apples, pears and cherries : apply at 250-375 g/ha. Plums : apply at 250 g/ha.
Water rate : 1000 – 1500 L/ha depending on tree size. Thorough coverage of the foliage is essential to ensure good control. The spray should be applied as a fine / medium spray quality, up to the point of run-off.

Tomatoes, peppers, aubergines:
Clayton Vault will control all of the most common aphid species and both species of whitefly (glasshouse and tobacco). Application should be made at the first sign of insect attack.
A maximum of 2 applications can be made per crop. The rate of application should not be lower than specified to ensure good control and to prevent the likelihood of resistance build up.


Rate of application:
Aphids - Apply at 250 g/ha in a water volume of up to 1000 L/ha.
Whitefly; Apply at a rate of 500 g/ha in a water volume of up to 1000 L/ha.
Thorough coverage of the foliage is essential to ensure good control. The spray should be applied as a fine / medium spray quality, up to the point of run-off.
