PRODUCT USE:
- FARMALINX Atrazine 900 WG is a pre- and post-emergence herbicide for selective control in various crops and situations.
- It selectively controls weeds and grasses in Canola (Triazine Tolerant varieties only), Sorghum, Maize, Sweet Corn, Sugar Cane, Lupins, Broom Millet, Saccaline, Forage Sorghum.
- It controls Mintweed in established Lucerne and Brome grass in certain grass seed crops.
- Provides control of weeds and grasses in fallow in a conservation tillage system.
- Not satisfactorily effective against established perennial species, large annuals, and large broadleaf weeds at recommended rates.
- Acts mainly through root absorption, and its effectiveness depends on rainfall or irrigation.
MAXIMUM RATE AND LIMITATIONS:
- The maximum rate of atrazine application in all crops (except plantation forestry) is limited to 3kg a.i. atrazine/ha per year.
- For plantation forestry, the maximum rate is 4.5kg a.i. atrazine/ha per year in sandy soils and highly erodible soils, and 8kg a.i. atrazine/ha per year in clay loam and heavier textured soils.
MIXING:
- Fill vat 60-80% full with clean water before adding FARMALINX Atrazine 900 WG.
- Begin agitating vat contents vigorously during mixing and spraying operations.
- Pour the required amount of FARMALINX Atrazine 900 WG steadily into the vat for complete dispersion.
- Thorough agitation of the spray liquid should continue during the entire spraying operation.
- Spray solution should NOT be left standing in the vat overnight.
- DO NOT mix, load, or apply within 20m of any well, sinkhole, or water source.
INCORPORATION (PRE-PLANT AND AT SOWING APPLICATION):
- Activation of the product depends on rainfall or irrigation to move it into the weed root zone.
- Mechanical incorporation after application is required in flood or furrow irrigation situations.
- Apply to an even, unridged seedbed for optimal results.
RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING:
- FARMALINX Atrazine 900 WG is a Group C herbicide (triazines group) with the inhibitors of photosynthesis at photosystem II mode of action.
- Some naturally-occurring weed biotypes resistant to this herbicide and other Group C herbicides may exist.
- It is essential to adopt an Integrated Weed Management Strategy to avoid herbicide resistance.
- Growers should report incidents of resistant weeds to FARMALINX Pty Ltd.
INTEGRATED WEED MANAGEMENT STRATEGY:
- An Integrated Weed Management Strategy for TT Canola has been developed to optimize the performance of TT Canola and manage herbicide resistance.
- Consultation with an accredited agronomist is advised before using FARMALINX Atrazine 900 WG on TT Canola.
TO MINIMIZE HERBICIDE RESISTANCE:
- Avoid dry sowing in heavily weed-infested paddocks.
- Adapt the weed control program to the anticipated weed spectrum and pressure.
- DO NOT use FARMALINX Atrazine 900 WG in consecutive years.
- Report incidents of resistant weeds to FARMALINX Pty Ltd.
SUMMER CROPS:
- Consider pre-plant or pre-emergence applications for grass control.
- Various time-of-application options are provided based on the crop type and stage.
COMPATIBILITY:
- Compatible with FARMALINX Parquat 250 and other residual herbicides such as Diuron.
- In sugar cane, addition of Sodium 2,4-D may assist in short-term suppression of Nut-grass and other sedges.
PRECAUTIONS AND PROTECTION:
- Re-entry period: Do not enter treated areas without protective clothing until the spray has dried.
- DO NOT spray foliage of desirable plants.
- Avoid high application rates on heavier soils if desirable shrub or tree roots are near the surface.
