GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS - FARMALINX DIFLUCAN 500 Herbicide
Target Crops:
- Early post-emergence spray in clover-based pasture, field peas, green peas, lentils, and lupins.
- Post-sowing pre-emergence spray on lupins and green peas.
Activity:
- Provides both contact and residual activity.
- Residual activity up to 8 weeks under favorable growing conditions.
- Taken up by the shoots of germinating seeds and seedlings.
- Causes chlorosis and necrosis in susceptible weeds.
Crop Impact:
- Transient crop discoloration may occur.
- Lentils and lupins: Yellow or white banding on leaves.
- Clover and field peas: White/pink coloration of leaf veins and tips.
- Some crop height reduction may occur.
- Crop development and subsequent growth unaffected under normal conditions.
Precautions:
- Transient crop discoloration and height reduction may occur, provided the crop is not under stress.
- Atrazine, a pre-emergence herbicide, can increase crop damage, especially in field peas.
- Field peas are particularly sensitive; exercise caution when tank-mixing with certain herbicides.
Mixing:
- Stir or invert the container before use to address settling.
- Half-fill the spray tank with clean water, add the required product amount, agitate, and then add the rest of the water.
- Thorough agitation during application is crucial.
Application:
- Ground Application:
- Minimum water rate: 50 L/ha (optimum: 70-100 L/ha).
- Adjust water volume based on weed infestation and crop cover.
- Complete coverage of weeds is essential.
- Higher water volumes (up to 100 L/ha) may enhance product activity but could increase crop damage symptoms.
Tank-Mix Guidelines:
- For tank-mixtures with grass herbicides, use recommended rates for both herbicides.
- Read the label of the grass herbicide for surfactant recommendations.
- DO NOT use crop oils with FARMALINX DIFLUCAN 500 Herbicide or tank mixtures with grass herbicides.
- Exercise caution with tank-mixes to avoid damage.
Special Considerations:
- Applications to lupins and field peas under stressed conditions may cause significant damage.
- Tank-mixes with simazine should be applied post-emergence to lupins crops only.
- DO NOT apply tank-mixtures to clover.
- Consult local Farmalinx Pty Ltd representative or relevant herbicide manufacturer for advice on tank-mixes.
Always follow guidelines, read labels thoroughly, and consult with local representatives for specific recommendations based on local conditions.
