GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Conquest HOWITZER Selective Herbicide is a post-emergence, foliar-absorbed product with short soil residual activity. Under favorable conditions, this pre-emergence activity will provide some control of subsequently germinating weed seedlings.

MIXING
Half fill the spray tank with clean water. Commence agitation and add the required amount of product to the tank. Maintain agitation whilst filling the tank and throughout the spraying operation. Once mixed with water spray out solution immediately. Spray mixture containing Conquest Howitzer should not be left to stand overnight. Prolonged periods of exposure to cold temperatures could result in settling out of the product in the mixture.

APPLICATION
Ground application: Apply with flat fan nozzles in a spray volume of 75-150L of water per hectare using standard boom spraying equipment. Application as a COARSE spray quality (defined by ASAE S572 Standard) using air induction nozzles such as AirMix or similar is suitable provided water volumes of 75-150L of water per hectare are used. In advanced or dense weed infestations and/or dense crop canopies, increase the water volume to ensure adequate coverage.

APVMA compliance instructions for mandatory COARSE or larger droplet size categories
Important information
These instructions inform those using this chemical product how to lawfully comply with the requirement of a COARSE or larger spray droplet size category for spray application. Spray droplet size categories are defined in the ASAE S572 Standard (newer name may also be shown as ASABE) or the BCPC guideline. Nozzle manufacturers may refer to one or both of these documents, to identify droplet size categories; however, for a nozzle to comply with this requirement, the manufacturer must refer to at least one. Complying with the label requirement to use a specific droplet size category means using the correct nozzle that will deliver that droplet size category under the spray operation conditions being used. The APVMA has approved only the following specific methods for choosing the correct nozzle. Use one of the methods specified in these instructions to select a correct nozzle to deliver a COARSE or larger droplet size category.

Instructions for ground application—for COARSE droplet size or larger categories
Mandatory instructions for ground applications USE ONLY nozzles that the nozzles’ manufacturer has rated to deliver a COARSE, a VERY COARSE or an EXTREMELY COARSE droplet size category, as referenced in ASAE S572 or BCPC. Choose a nozzle that is specified to provide the droplet size category required in the label Spray Drift Restraints. DO NOT use a higher spray system pressure than the maximum the manufacturer specifies for the selected nozzle to deliver the droplet size category required in the label Spray Drift Restraint”.

COMPATIBILITY
Conquest Howitzer Selective Herbicide is physically compatible with Metsulfuron, Conquest Bromo 200, Conquest Alpha Duo, Chlorsulfuron, Diclofop, Conquest Rival 750, Conquest Corsair, L.V.E. MCPA, Dimethoate, Conquest Snooker, Tristar* and Wildcat*. DO NOT add spraying oil to HOWITZER or HOWITZER tank mixes. As water quality can influence compatibility, it is recommended that mixtures should be bottle-tested in the water intended for spraying, prior to mixing commercial quantities.

CROP SAFETY
Following application, some transient bleaching (yellow spotting and/or mottling) of cereal foliage may occur especially with higher rates on young crops. This bleaching is confined to leaves present at application. The development of the crop and subsequent new growth is unaffected in crops growing free of stress. Symptoms will be more pronounced and persistent in crops that are growing under stress (see Restraints). Avoid swath overlapping. Subsequent Crops To reduce the effect on subsequent susceptible crops (e.g Canola), ensure thorough cultivation of soil prior to the sowing of these crops.

Warning
The rubber component present in some spraying units may be affected by exposure to the solvents in Conquest Howitzer and some other agricultural products. To reduce this risk, it is recommended that the spray unit be thoroughly washed with a boom cleaner and fresh water after use. Contact the spray manufacturer to determine the suitability to the rubber components for use with agricultural products.
