APPLICATION

  1. WOODY WEED SITUATIONS

    • Weeds must be actively growing for optimal herbicide effect.

    • Delay treatment until regrowth reaches approximately 1 meter, especially after bulldozing, slashing, burning, plowing, or previous chemical treatment.

    A. High Volume Spraying

    • Hand Gun: Use a No.6 to 8 tip at 700 to 1500 kPa (400 to 500 kPa for St John's wort).

    • Knapsack: Apply the recommended mix to cover leaves and stems adequately.

    B. Aerial Application

    • Apply in 200 L of water/ha using an aircraft with nozzle configurations to produce droplets of 250 to 350 micron diameter.

    • Avoid spraying when wind exceeds 15 km/hr and/or air temperature reaches 35°C.

    C. Controlled Droplet Application (C.D.A.)

    • Use equipment like Micron Herbi or similar with specific nozzle and flow rate settings.

    D. Low Volume High Concentrate Application Techniques

    • Control bush size to ensure good coverage.

    • Gas-powered gun or sprinkler sprayer techniques can be utilized.

    E. Boom Application

    • Use a minimum spray volume of 200 L/ha for galenia and St. John's wort, and 600 L/ha for sicklepod.

  2. FALLOW SITUATIONS

    • Boom Application: Use a minimum spray volume of 50 L/ha with flat fan nozzles.

    B. Blanket Wiper Application

    • Use a durable and wettable blanket mounted behind a motorized vehicle.

    • Two passes (in opposite directions) increase contact with plants.

CLEANING SPRAY EQUIPMENT

  • Rinsing: Thoroughly wash inside the unit using a pressure hose after emptying the spray unit completely. Repeat the rinsing procedure twice.

  • Decontamination: Use an alkali detergent (e.g., liquid SURF, OMO, OMOMATIC, DRIVE) and circulate throughout the system for at least 15 minutes. Flush the system with clean water afterward.

By adhering to these application and cleaning guidelines, users can ensure effective and safe use of Ken-Zon for weed control in various situations.
