LOBAK Selective Herbicide - General Instructions
Application Guidelines:
- LOBAK is a post-emergence contact herbicide effective against wild radish.
- Apply immediately after mixing; do not allow it to stand in the spray tank overnight.
- Optimal results are achieved with good soil moisture, and application to unstressed weeds.
- Certain pre-emergence herbicides, like atrazine, may cause stress in crops like lucerne and subterranean clover, leading to increased damage.
Resistant Weeds Warning:
- LOBAK belongs to the nitrile and nicotinanilide groups (Group C, F herbicide) and inhibits photosynthesis.
- Some weed biotypes may be naturally resistant, leading to dominance if herbicides are used repeatedly.
- Kenso Corporation accepts no liability for losses resulting from LOBAK's failure to control resistant weeds.
Temperature Warning:
- Do not apply LOBAK if frosts are imminent, as frost may stress crops and weeds, increasing crop effects and decreasing weed control.
- Avoid application when maximum daily temperatures exceed 20°C, or are likely to occur shortly after application, to prevent increased crop damage.
Crop Tolerance: Cereals:
- Transient crop yellowing may occur but generally won't affect crop development and growth unless crops are stressed by other factors.
Lucerne:
- Tolerance varies; application before the 8 trifoliate leaf stage is recommended.
- Crop yellowing and growth suppression may occur but usually recover under normal growing conditions.
Subterranean Clover:
- Tolerance varies; apply before the 8 trifoliate leaf stage.
- Initial yellowing and growth suppression may happen, but subsequent growth and seed yield are usually unaffected under normal conditions.
Other Clovers:
- Tolerance varies; apply before the 8 trifoliate leaf stage.
- Initial yellowing and growth suppression may occur; exercise caution with sensitive clover varieties.
Subsequent Crops:
- Thoroughly cultivate soil before sowing susceptible crops (e.g., canola) to reduce LOBAK's effect on them.
MIXING:
- Half-fill the spray tank with clean water.
- Add the required LOBAK amount and agitate thoroughly during spray operations.
- Reseal partially used containers immediately after use.
