GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS - CONTINUED:

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING - GROUP C AND I HERBICIDE:

  • Pattochoice MA Herbicide is classified as both a Group C and I herbicide.
  • It belongs to the triazines and phenoxy groups of herbicides.
  • It inhibits photosynthesis at photosystem II and disrupts plant cell growth.
  • Group C and I herbicides may face resistance issues; repeated use can lead to dominant resistant weed biotypes.

MIXING:

  • Pattochoice MA mixes readily with water.
  • Half fill the spray tank with water, shake the container, and add the recommended quantity to the tank.
  • Maintain adequate agitation during mixing and spraying using mechanical or venture-type agitation.
  • Reseal part-used containers immediately and wash the sprayer thoroughly with clean water after use.

APPLICATION:

  • Calibrate boom sprayers before use for accurate application per hectare.
  • For cereals and pastures, apply 50 to 100 L of water/ha. Use higher volumes for heavy weed infestations or dense crop cover.
  • For sugar cane, apply 200 to 400 L of water/ha. Use higher volumes for high weed density. Thorough coverage is essential. Always add the required wetter.
  • Aerial application: Apply 20 to 30 L of water/ha. Higher volumes are preferred for more reliable results.

COMPATIBILITY:

  • Tank mix Pattochoice MA with Metsun 600 Herbicide for specific weed control (e.g., capeweed, sheepweed, toadrush).
  • DO NOT tank mix with diclofop methyl or tralkoxydim, as it may cause significant crop injury and reduced weed control.
  • In pastures, mix with MCPA amine and certain insecticides. In sugar cane, mix with Agral, Wetter 1000, 2,4-D amine, and ametryn 500 g/L.
  • Follow labels strictly when tank mixing for crop recommendations and directions.

TIMING:

  • Apply while weeds are actively growing, typically at the 2 to 6 true leaf stage.
  • For optimal results, apply approximately 5 to 8 weeks after planting.
  • Favorable conditions include moist soil, fine weather, and no rain expected within 6 hours post-application.

CROP SAFETY:

  • Certain oat varieties are tolerant or moderately tolerant to Pattochoice MA.
  • Tolerant varieties (apply up to 1.5 L/ha): Bandicoot, Coolabah, Mortlock, Potaroo, Swan, Wallaroo, West.
  • Moderately Tolerant (DO NOT exceed 1 L/ha): Dalyup, Windjardie.
  • Seek advice before spraying other oat varieties.
  • In pastures, sub. Clover growth may be briefly reduced but typically recovers.
  • Some sugar cane varieties may show temporary yellowing and leaf scorch, but recovery is expected within 4 weeks.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS, AND THE ENVIRONMENT:

  • Dangerous to fish; avoid contamination of streams, rivers, or waterways with the chemical or used containers.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE, AND NON-TARGET PLANTS:

  • Avoid applying under weather conditions or from spraying equipment that may cause drift onto susceptible plants, crops, or pastures.
  • Prevent spray drift onto crops like cotton, tobacco, tomatoes, vines, lupins, fruit trees, and ornamentals.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL:

  • Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated locked area, away from children, animals, food, feedstuffs, seed, and fertilizers.
  • Triple or preferably pressure rinse containers before disposal; do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site.
  • If recycling, replace the cap and return clean containers to a recycler or designated collection point.
  • For non-recyclable containers, bury them below 500 mm in a disposal pit away from waterways, desirable vegetation, and tree roots. Do not burn empty containers or product.
