GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

MIXING

SWYSH 400 EC can be mixed with water or diesel. Mix only the required amount for each day's use and avoid storing mixed solutions.

  • Mixing in Water: Half fill the spray tank with water, add the required quantity of SWYSH 400 EC, and complete filling. Agitate continuously to ensure thorough mixing before and during application.

  • Mixing in Diesel: Half fill the tank with diesel, add the required quantity of SWYSH 400 EC, and then add the remainder of the diesel. Agitate or shake to mix contents.

Tank mixtures: When tank mixing, add wettable powder or dry flowable formulations first, followed by suspension concentrates, water-soluble salts, and then emulsifiable concentrate formulations like SWYSH 400 EC. Spraying oils and surfactants should be added last.

OILS AND SURFACTANTS

  • Oils: Use an appropriate crop oil/surfactant adjuvant at the specified rate. Ensure a minimum amount is used even with lower spray volumes.

  • Surfactants (wetters): Use a specified non-ionic surfactant at the recommended rate where required.

APPLICATION METHODS and WATER RATES

BROADCAST APPLICATION IN CROPPING, PASTURE AND FALLOW SITUATIONS

A. Ground application (Boom): Use an accurately calibrated boom sprayer, applying in at least 50 L/ha water (100-400 L/ha for sugar cane). Utilize flat fan nozzles and set the boom for double overlap of nozzle patterns.

B. Ground directed application (Dropper nozzles): Use dropper nozzles to minimize crop effects, especially in later growth stages of certain crops. Adjust nozzles to direct spray into the base of the crop, away from leaves and the growing point.

C. Aerial application: Apply in a minimum volume of water, ensuring droplets have the specified average diameter. Avoid application under certain temperature and wind conditions and do not use human flaggers unless protected.

WOODY WEED SITUATIONS

A. High Volume Application

  • Hand Gun: Apply to obtain full coverage of leaves and stems. Use specified spray volumes per infested hectare.

  • Knapsack: Use the same rate and techniques as for handgun application on smaller infestations.

B. Low Volume, High Concentrate Application

  • Drench Gun or Gas-Powered Gun: Apply uniformly across foliage to achieve the recommended coverage.

C. Basal Bark and Cut Stump Application

  • Basal Bark: Apply around the base of each stem, wetting the bark thoroughly.

  • Cut Stump: Apply liberally to freshly cut stumps immediately after cutting.

CLEANING SPRAY EQUIPMENT

Thoroughly clean spray equipment after use, following specified procedures for water-based sprays and decontamination before spraying certain sensitive crops.

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING

SWYSH 400 EC is a Group 4 Herbicide, and resistant weed management strategies should be employed to minimize the risk of resistance development.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS

Take precautions to avoid damage to susceptible crops, especially during both growing and dormant periods.

PROTECTION OF LIVESTOCK

Take precautions to prevent grazing or cutting treated crops for stock food, and be aware of potential changes in palatability of poisonous plants after spraying.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT

Avoid contaminating waterways and treat only noxious weeds and poisonous plants near water sources.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

Follow proper storage and disposal procedures to prevent environmental contamination. Rinse containers before disposal and handle spills according to safety directions.
