GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: FARMALINX TRIAFON HERBICIDE

FARMALINX Triafon Herbicide is a water-dispersible granular herbicide used for the pre-plant, incorporated by sowing, control of annual ryegrass, paradoxa grass, and certain broadleaf weeds in wheat. It is also effective for post-emergent control of wild radish in wheat, oats, and barley.

Crops Sensitivity: Crops other than wheat, barley, oats, triticale, and cereal rye may be very sensitive to low soil concentrations of Triafon Selective Herbicide. Prior to use, careful consideration of crop rotation plans is essential.

RESISTANCE Weeds WARNING: GROUP B HERBICIDE

  • Triafon Herbicide belongs to the sulfonylurea group of herbicides with the Inhibitors of acetolactate synthase mode of action.
  • For weed resistance management, Triafon is classified as a Group B Herbicide.
  • Naturally-occurring weed biotypes resistant to Triafon and other Group B herbicides may exist due to normal genetic variability. Repeated use of these herbicides can lead to resistant weeds that won't be controlled by Triafon or other Group B herbicides.
  • Detection of resistant weeds before use is challenging, and FARMALINX Pty Ltd assumes no liability for losses resulting from Triafon failing to control resistant weeds. Advice on strategies and alternative treatments should be sought from local suppliers, consultants, agriculture departments, or FARMALINX representatives.

MIXING:

  • Triafon Selective Herbicide is a water-dispersible granular herbicide that readily mixes with water and is applied as a spray.
  • Procedure:
    1. Partly fill the spray tank with water.
    2. Start agitation.
    3. Add the correct amount of product to the spray tank with the agitation system running.
    4. Continue agitation while topping up the tank with water and during spraying.
    5. Use the spray mix within 24 hours of preparation.

APPLICATION:

  • Ground Application:
    • Apply by boom spray with 30 to 100L of water per hectare.
    • Avoid overlapping boom runs.
  • Aerial Application:
    • Always spray in a crosswind of less than 5 knots.
    • Ensure good spray coverage and apply 20 to 40 liters per hectare.

SPRAYER CLEANUP:

  • Rinse thoroughly with water when used for spraying cereal crops.
  • For non-cereal crops, drain, rinse tank and spray boom with clean water for at least 10 minutes.
  • Use a solution of household chlorine bleach for additional cleaning steps.
  • Clean nozzles and filters separately.
  • Dispose of all water used for cleaning.

COMPATIBILITY:

  • Compatible with various herbicides and chemicals, but follow specific mixing instructions.

PRECAUTION:

  • Crop yellowing or retardation may occur under stress factors. Rapid recovery is expected if stress factors are resolved.

RE-ENTRY PERIOD:

  • Do not enter treated areas without protective clothing until the spray has dried.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE PLANTS, AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS:

  • Avoid application on or near shrubs, trees, lawns, or crops other than wheat, oats, and barley.
  • Prevent spray drift onto adjacent crops, fallow land, and non-target plants.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS, AND ENVIRONMENT:

  • Do not contaminate waterways with the chemical or used containers.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL:

  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Store in closed, original containers in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight.
  • Dispose of empty containers properly, avoiding burning and following local regulations.
