GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

FARMALINX 2,4-D 300 Herbicide

Herbicidal Activity:

  • Nonselective herbicide against broadleaf weeds.
  • Controls emerged weeds only, with no residual control.

Mode of Action:

  • Absorbed by plant foliage, accumulating to toxic levels in growth and reproductive regions.
  • Disrupts the plant's ability to balance nutrient synthesis and utilization.

Visible Effects:

  • Gradual yellowing and wilting of plants leading to complete browning and root deterioration.
  • Effects may take 7-10 days (up to 21 days in cold conditions) to become apparent.

Conditions for Application:

  • Avoid treating weeds under poor growing conditions (drought, water-logging, disease, etc.).
  • Reduced efficacy if weeds are stressed from previous herbicide application.
  • Rainfall within 6 hours may reduce effectiveness.
  • Avoid spraying in strong winds.

CROP ESTABLISHMENT:

  • Recommended as an additive to glyphosate for controlling emerged weeds before crop establishment.
  • Observe specific Plant Back Periods to ensure safe sowing.
  • Plant Back Period influenced by moisture, temperature, and soil characteristics.
  • Considerations for delaying sowing in certain conditions.

APPLICATION:

Boom Equipment:

  • Recommended spray volumes of 25-100 L/ha for FARMALINX 2,4-D 300 Herbicide/glyphosate mixtures.
  • Adjust volumes when other herbicides are included.
  • Boom height should ensure double overlap of nozzle patterns at the top of weed canopy.

Aerial Equipment:

  • Minimum spray volume of 15 L/ha for FARMALINX 2,4-D 300 Herbicide/glyphosate mixtures.
  • Increase water volume to 30 L/ha when temperatures reach 25°C.
  • DO NOT apply by aircraft when temperature is above 35°C.
  • Avoid use in intensive horticultural cropping areas.
  • Thoroughly wash aircraft after each day of spraying.

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE:

  • Use stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, fiberglass, or plastic-lined containers for mixing, storing, and applying FARMALINX 2,4-D 300 Herbicide and glyphosate.
  • DO NOT use galvanized or unlined steel containers or spray tanks to avoid the production of combustible hydrogen gas.
  • Clean equipment after use with hot soapy water, ammonia solution, or Spraymate Tank & Equipment Cleaner.

COMPATIBILITY:

  • Compatible with various herbicides, insecticides, and adjuvants. Refer to the compatibility section for specific details.

SURFACTANT ADDITION:

  • DO NOT add surfactant, except for Conservation Tillage where the product is tank-mixed with a glyphosate product.
  • When needed, add non-ionic surfactant (e.g., Spraymate Activator) or acidifying surfactant LI-700 as per glyphosate product label directions.

TANK MIXTURES:

  • FARMALINX 2,4-D 300 Herbicide can be tank-mixed with various herbicides, insecticides, and adjuvants as recommended.
  • Follow all label directions, restraints, plant back periods, withholding periods, and safety directions for tank mix products.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Fill the spray tank with clean water and start agitation.
  2. Add acidifying surfactant (Bonus or LI-700) through the top mesh screen.
  3. Add recommended herbicide additive/insecticide and mix thoroughly.
  4. Add FARMALINX 2,4-D 300 Herbicide and mix thoroughly.
  5. Add glyphosate product and remaining water.
  6. If using Spraymate Activator surfactant, add it near the end of the filling process.
