GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Farmalinx Belta 700 WG Herbicide is versatile, suitable for both pre- and post-emergence weed control, depending on the crop and target weeds. When applied pre-emergence, susceptible weeds may emerge but their growth will be retarded, leading to eventual death or stunted growth, preventing competition with the crop. Adequate soil moisture is crucial for optimal activity. Post-emergence application results in the death or stunting of weeds, ensuring they do not compete with the crop. For post-emergence weed control, a non-ionic surfactant or a specified adjuvant must be added to the herbicide. The addition of ammonium sulfate may enhance post-emergence control of summer-growing weeds.

MIXING

Farmalinx Belta 700 WG readily mixes with both hard and soft water. Fill the spray tank halfway to three-quarters full with clean water, start the agitator, add the required amount of the herbicide, and then complete filling the tank with water. When tank mixing with other compatible products, add them first and mix thoroughly before adding Farmalinx Belta 700 WG.

APPLICATION

  • Pre-emergence: Apply a minimum of two hours before rainfall or irrigation. Ground application should avoid overlaps using flat fan nozzles in 50 to 100 L/ha water. Aerial application is allowed for pre-emergence, avoiding overlaps, using a minimum of 20 L/ha water with a maximum swath width of 18 m and a droplet VMD of 230-280 microns.

  • Post-emergence: Non-ionic surfactant or specified adjuvant is required. Ground application should avoid overlaps in 50 to 100 L/ha water. Aerial application is not recommended for post-emergence.

Ensure no application occurs under conditions likely to cause spray drift onto sensitive areas or non-target crops.

EQUIPMENT CLEAN-UP

Thoroughly flush all spray equipment with water after using Farmalinx Belta 700 WG and before using other products. Do not discharge rinse water where it may reach streams, water bodies, or natural vegetation.

COMPATIBILITY

Farmalinx Belta 700 WG is compatible with various herbicides, including pendimethalin, oryzalin, alpha-cypermethrin, trifluralin, metribuzin, cyanazine, diuron, glyphosate, paraquat plus diquat, diquat, simazine, diflufenican, dimethoate, omethoate, and endosulfan. However, it should not be tank-mixed with selective post-emergence grass herbicides.

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING

Farmalinx Belta 700 WG belongs to the Imidazolinone group (Group B herbicide), inhibiting acetolactate synthase (ALS). As with other Group B herbicides, some weed biotypes may develop resistance through normal genetic variability. Detection of resistant weeds is challenging before use, and Farmalinx Pty Ltd disclaims liability for losses resulting from the failure of Farmalinx Belta 700 WG to control resistant weeds.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS

  • Avoid application under conditions or with equipment likely to cause spray drift onto nearby susceptible plants, crops, or pastures.
  • Do not spray within 50 m of wetlands or waterways.
  • Some shortening of plant internodes may occur, leading to transient crop yellowing, but recovery is swift, and yield is unaffected.
  • Specific restrictions exist for certain crops, so carefully follow guidelines for pre- and post-emergence use on different varieties.
  • Re-sowing of specific crops should not involve re-application of Farmalinx Belta 700 WG.
